Finally, my Oshkosh Pictures...at least some

Great pictures, Tom, and thank you for sharing them! Did you happen to get any pictures of the P-51D "Little Rebel"? It seems to have been ignored by almost everyone who has shared photos thus far.

That is correct, in that Roush owns the P-51B "Old Crow" and P-51D "Gentleman Jim". Roush did at one time own the P-51D "Old Crow", but sold it to Jim Hagedorn several years ago. If he had not sold his D-model "Old Crow", the B model would have been finished in a different 357th FG scheme. With him and Bud Anderson being such close friends, Roush wanted to once again honor the guy with a P-51B in the markings of one that Bud flew.

Tom, did you see the Barnstormers film they showed at the show? It involved the American Barnstormers group with the some of hte planes in your last post I believe... My folks said it was very very well done... but I can find no mention of it on the web anywhere...

I did not see it. It might have been shown on the Saturday night before the convention started. We usually drive back and forth from Green Bay, so after the airshow (and another ice cream cone) we head back. Some year I plan on camping and taking in all the night time stuff, like Theater in the Woods programs, the Fly-in theater playing the movies, etc.
 
:applause: Thanks for posting, some really nice shots. Wouldn't mine seeing a few more of "Tex" Hill's P-40, even tho it's an N. Sure nice to see the Lysander flying but I just don't know about that color.

First book I ever read was about the AVG and P-40's, and the dang thing has been stuck in my head ever since. Maybe not much room for anything else..

The Westland Lysander in the pictures is owned by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ont. The paint scheme was used for target towing if I'm correct. I've included a link to a youtube video of how the CWHM restored the Lysander to flying condition.

I just had to post these. Don't remember if I ever did before.
The first one is from this year. The others are from about 3 years ago. Sorry, their taken off of a video, so their a little iffy.
Always wanted to do it and finally did. What a rush! Would feel better in a 5-point harness!
 
What is the absolutely beautiful single seat flying boat? That is a plane that I would be willing to sell my wife into slavery to get...don't tell her I said that, she'd beat me up.

It's a 3/4 scale single place Marcheti (sorry, don't know how to spell it).
It was brand new. 2009
Cool little cradle for it to sit on.
I'm not sure if they flew it yet.
I'm guessing that the trucked it there and put the wings on.
Don't really know.
But, VERY COOL!
Tie that up next to the cabin!

I didnt know 3 Tailwinds showed up! Nice...

Love that little dual rudder bird. I think Tim made that for FS if I am correct. Almost looks like the flying car. Love the WWII guns exhibit. Reminds me of COD, lol..

That last plane looks like Waldo Watermans ole plane. Do you know if it is? If so, that is a classic. He used to fly that thing into Montgomery and most airshows all the time. A famous site back then, (when I was a young kid.. as in 1st and 2nd grade).

Bill, there were more than three. Maybe as many as 5-10. Just took pics of a few that looked really nice.
When referring to "the last plane" are you referring to the Breezy? If so, that guy is from Illinois.
If you referring to the seaplane, that's brand new.
 
Great shots Tom.What days were you there?We were probably right next to each other and didn't know we were next to a fellow SOH'er.

@ Bomber_12th..I got a couple pics of Little Rebel but unfortunately nothing good.I think in the last pic that the near Mustang is Little Rebel but not positive.

Thank you Michael! I know the owner and restorers were in pursuit of winning the WWII Grand Champion award, and spent a great deal of time detailing the aircraft to WWII standard. They fell short to Ron Fagen's P-40E (which can't get any more original), but it did go home with the award for Best P-51. It is a very stock aircraft, with details incorporated into the restoration that mimic what was done with Midwest Aero's restoration of "Happy Jack's Go Buggy", that turned heads last year when it was unveiled. In most of the photo sets I have found on photo-sharing sites, the photographer has gotten as far as photographing "Sweet & Lovely", the owner's other P-51 seated next to it, but didn't seem to notice or care for this new, more period-accurate example.
 
BLUE NOSE!!! I kept thinking red nose.

Those are real nice shots bluediamond.

Now I just need a time machine to go back and pay attention to it!.
