My sincere apologies for the delay in uploading this vital fix for my Toom soundset.

The correct cfg file and replacement wavs should make those F-4's rock and roll!

WARNING !!!!!

These sounds are so fantastic especially with afterburner, that the fuel consumption's gone through the roof ....... :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

The endurance 'aint there , but it's fun blasting throught the valleys at full noise. :jump: :jump:

Thanks Nigel for sharing your tallent :ernae: :ernae:

Pete.

WOW!

I only just got around to trying this update! Unfortunately...! If I would have just known how good this is!
The most authentic jet fighter sound I know for fs9!
A great workout for my subwoofer, especially at mid-throttle and AB mode.
Another jewel in the crown, well done Nigel! :applause:

Regards,

Stuart

(ps.: How are you getting on with the Napier Sabre pack?)

THe' PLAN'

Pete, Stuart:The pleasure, I can asurre you Gentlemen is all mine if I can make flying time that much more realistic and enjoyable for fellow simmers.

The Napier Sabre sounds, Stuart are...(icon:Smoothie's world famous cough:icon)
...coming along. Need to find more scources though.

Please forgive me for squeezing a brand new soundset for the Pratt & Whitney powered Canadair cl-215 into my agenda. After several visits this week by pairs of the birds, I got the feeling someone was hinting for me to get them RIGHT!

Might be that my enthusiasm for these ships has influenced our buddy Smoothie. And when he gets a bee in his bonnet, he turns the heat up - HAF style.
Anyway I should have the sounds up here during next week.

Back on topic, it has been brought to my attention by BB686 that the F-4 sound set produces afterburn on all his aircraft when hitting the lights. I have only experienced this with likewise aircraft with afterburn...suggestions anyone?

One question Nigel:
Why is the afterburner sound fx activated when I switch the lights on? ('L' key)

:salute: Stuart, this is because the afterburn sound is linked to afterburn lights; you could assign it to strobe or landing lights if its becoming a nuisance. If anyone can think of another way of skinning this rabbit, love to get the gen.
I suppose a gauge would be ideal, so if someone has the patience, HU and grey matter for working these things out, once again I'd be indebted.

(icon:thanks Smoothie for that cough:icon) I Never can get the bally things to work!

Nigel, maybe PM Rob Barendregt (I think he is rcbarend on here), he's the wizard for gauges - chances are he already has something perfectly suitable.

:salute: thanks Andy, I repeat; you're the brains on the team, we all owe you crate loads of ouzo...

(icon: you know who's cough:icon) and talking of ouzo guzzlers, where's Smoothie and the rest of the gang...lining some beach somewhere on the Aegean no doubt and looking extremely like 'the dude'!

Smoothie said he's off to RIAT at RAF Fairford...
And I'm bloody jealous 'cause I can't make it! Hope he has fun, as the weather is not ideal.

Uh Oh... That ought to spark a reply from Smoothie. And just think of how drunk poor Andy will be if he goes and drinks all that ouzo by himself. Better feed it to him a little at a time, Nigel.

I don't like Tooms without the proper enjins, no interest here. These aren't the sounds your looking for.

SPEY

oops, did I say that out loud, lol.

Jamie

right then you ragtag bunch i'm back! RIAT was good as usual, that is if you class drinking an entire bottle of Vodka in 1 night.... :icon_lol:

now though i'm counting down 25hrs and i'll be en-route to Greece for a well earned Holiday, maybe a quick catch-up with my HAF Friends on Kos, and trying to wrangle a Chinook-Ride if theres any in the vicinity :icon_lol:

well someone had to do it right? :icon_lol: now back to annoying those Greek farmers by flying NOE in the 'Toom.......

Jet sound

Nigel,
I would like to offer a sound set for 'jets' that blew MY mind and perhaps will impress you when you use it with your F4. It's at FSCom. File name 'lf104snd.zip'. 3.7 mb, dated 1-25-2003 (had 6,000+ downloads). It was for Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, of course, but I use with my Harrier, etc. This sound is so well put together that it will grow on you. Loud (depends on throttle) but sweet.

No AB but I guess you could shoehorn it in (use 'non-combustible' section?). RCB would know how to install afterburner, keyed to 'O' key, or have a gauge to key off something else. All I know is that Erick Cantu really hit the nail on the head with this one. Here is link to FSCom download link, which might work (members only?). Cheers.

Been using this old Erick Cantu F104 sound in my J-79 engined Alphasim F-4s and RA-5C's for some years now. Has a distinct howl to it that sets it apart from the others. Recall staying near Key West NAS in the late 70's and hearing THE MOST in your face jet ops nearby. Could not see the planes but never heard anything like that before and since, so assumed it was either a Viggie or Phantom, and the Cantu sound files remind me of that experience.
