I've got a -106 in a box around here. Haven't built it yet. I think my next plane will be the P-61.

C,
One day try building a non-American plane, you might find it fun!:ernae:
Did build the Monogram 106, very nice kit for it's release date. Had the best wheelwells and gear detail at the time.

here is some photos of my models plus my F18 and Delta Dart F106

Is it that bad?

It beats the ancient Aurora kit but you"ve got to remember that the Revell-Monogram model dates back 25+ years.
Raised 'panel' lines and all that stuff, but the outline is pretty good.
It builds into a nice model with care but it's no Tamiya 'Shake 'n Bake' kit!
:monkies:

If I can make it look halfway decent, anyone can! I remember the main problem areas that needed putty were:

The booms, the nose cone, the interface between the booms/wing, and the back area around the glass. It's been a while, but I can't remember any other significant areas.

I went cross-eyed masking off the canopy structure. :blind:

Wombat is right. Patience is the key with this one.

I once built an old (Airfix?) model of the Black Widow in 1:72 scale. Probably the worst kit I have ever attempted to built, with probably the exception of a Revell tank kit in the same scale that required pieces of the tracks to be assembled link by link! Never did finish that one..
The Black Widow was almost impossible to assemble with the booms, fuselage, tail and engines all lined up.
The first time I did a Tamiya kit I could not believe how well it was made..
