Again, I am envious as hell over your skill and talent.

Nice job there!!

You are a master!

Very cool! Did you build all the objects or just assembling the scene?

Un:censored:ing believable.

I hope you post some more full sized pictures.

Your work has left me so speachless that I haven'[t posted until now. Please post some more amazing pictures.

John please stop osting pics man lol your killing me. Every time I see pics of your work I run out and buy more modeling things and end up having more projects then my girlfriend could be happy with lol.

Now on the serious side. Man outstanding John. Great job. Looks so damn real. This Buds for you man :icon29:

It looks so real I can almost smell the old wood and castor oil. Looking at the pictures reminds me of my grandfathers old workshop/garage. That is some serious eye candy, thanks for showing them to us.:applause:

I have decided to add more depth to this diorama .

I think that this is what I am going to do.Where you now see blue sky I will put the split garage doors on either side of the opening.Behind where you now see the tanker I will build another wooden wall or fence set at the same angle as the tanker. The garage doors can be set at an angle to block any unwanted views.I should be able to accomplish all this without adding more than a few inches to the rear of the diorama.I opened the garage doors and put the tanker out there as a test.I think that I like the idea.I was going to do this originally but at the time I was limited by the TV cabinet that it was supposed to go into. Now that I don't have that worry about that anymore, well here goes!
(Note:Those figures were originally flat but now they are a little too shiny, which was caused by too much handling,I will have to tone them down a bit with a wash or using pastels.)

John...What did you do for work all your life to give you the skill and patience to create these masterpieces?

They just never cease to amaze me ....:ernae:

Hi guys ! thanks for all your kind comments, they really do mean a lot to me.
I was a budding pilot and flying instructor until an aircraft accident forced me to give that up.After many years in flight ops and working at a model of HMS Victory in my spare time, I went into art full time about 25 years ago.I taught wood sculpture to adults for 11 years.Around age 60 I decided to get into dioramas and have been doing that ever since.
The Canada Aviation Museum in Ottawa liked my work so I offered to donate them for educational purposes.Cheers! John.

Hi! My motto is buy what you can ,build what you must ,as the storyline is the most important element in any diorama.I would estimate that my dioramas are about 80%-90% scratchbuilt.:ernae:

Not sure where Attowa Canada is ,but I will check after this post..

My wife and I planded a MC trip into Canada summer before last, but her health kept us from it...

We still want to go,and if we do i will have to go there and see your work..Unless The Museum is on the west coast ....
