Firepower B17-F conversion

I know various conversions were made to FP aircraft to AvH or similar standards. Was one ever done for the B17-F?
@ sixstrings. IIRC you gave me a name in the FP group for getting permissions to use one of their aircraft; do you remember who that was?
 
Will do some searching and get back with you. The P-51D was a addition to the package ,so i don't know if Scott will release more, but can't hurt to ask.

I see you're back! I know there was a FP Heavy bomber conversion kit for ETO but it was on the now defunct aussie.org do I can't find it any more.
 
Mongoose, I have 'Fire_Power_USAAF_Heavy_Bombers_2eto'.
It's a 145mb auto-installer that will convert the 3 bombers to a bunch of 'em in ETO.

The Fire_Power_USAAF_Heavy_Bombers_2eto auto installer will convert your Firepower USAAF Heavy bombers (B-17f, B-17G and B-24J) to work in your
CFS3 ETO Expansion Theater. It will also install/create standalone B-24J aircraft of the 98th, 376th, 450th, 451st, 458th, 460th, 461st, 467th, 484th, 491st,
and 492nd Bomb Groups and missions of the 450th and 491st Bomb Groups.
These textures are based upon Ndicki's excellent FP B-24J template. I just dabbed some paint on them. My thanks to Ndicki for the use of his template.

Install instructions:
1. Place your CFS3 ETO Expansion in the default era of 1 and place your spwns in the stock spawn mode.
2. Copy and paste your Fire Power B-17f, B-17g, B-17 shared folder and B-24J folders
....into the CFS3 ETO Expansion\aircraft folder.
3. Run the Fire_Power_USAAF_Heavy_Bombers_2eto installer.
4. The installer will automatically run the BDP Zapper at the end of the install process.

Ok thanks for that. I have downloaded it so you may remove from your Mediafire if you wish.
It seems that as of mid August 1943, the b17F was still the main b17 version in use by the 8th,. so I am probably going to switch most , if not all the August 17th Schweinfurt Regensburg bomber to the FP B17F. I have made an AI version for this, (I'm not sure what this skin represents), and a standalone version from the CFS3_Firepower_B17F_Skin_Pack_v1 by Dave '3dp' Harkins and the ETO version representing the
"B-17F 42-3131 'Flak-Wolf', 427th Bomb Squadron, 303rd Bomb Group, Molesworth, August 1943"
I guess that I shall have to get back to the FP guy to get general permission so @ Scott, could you remind me who that was?
 
I don't suppose anyone knows of another FP B17 skin now that I have found out that the FP B17F original is the Memphis Belle which left before August.
 
Does this mean FP are allowing us to release their models as freeware? Because I have a shedload of Ta183s just for starters...Shot04-23-20-11-46-56.jpg
 
Well, WRT the Me410s, I requested the FP guy, specifically for use of them in TOW. I am waiting for Scott to remind me of his contact details WRT the B17s. I suggest you try that route.
