Firewall/ Scecurity

I need advise on a Firewall/security program. I have AVG 2011 (Paid Version) now and it's too much. I can't install programs like Flight 1 because it wont allow a connection.
What is your favorite program? I would like something a little less complicated.that works.

I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security. It has an inbuilt firewall (I've also got a router firewall) that works well.

I have a wi-fi router that a friend was going to trash. Turned off the wi-fi portion and have it hard wired to the computer(s). Has a hardware firewall, but I still have the one in Windows turned on. Anti-virus is Avira free. Haven't had any problems of some software trying to protect me from myself, like blocking any Flight1 reinstalls.

I had a router on this one but we had a T-storm and I unplugged the 10/100 cable from the computer and about 5 minutes later I heard a pop ........
It got the router .......... and comcast's modem.
Looking now at Win 7 and a new install ..........
