First F-35C delivered to Eglin

On saturday the Navy's first C model was delivered to Eglin. Had I known this I would have brought my camera to work as they flew over us at least 3 times. 1 F-35, and 3 F/A-18Fs. From what I read, another C model is scheduled to come in this week so I will have my camera with me at all times to try to get some in flight shots! In the meantime, enjoy this video of them flying over my town! :salute:

Ok, who can do this paint for Dino's F-35C?

...it is already there!
Version 2.21 has paint schemes for both CF-6 and CF-7 (although the latter has no grim reaper on the tails, as per the pics I've seen on the web. Not sure if they will add it before the delivery)...

Might be just so that a limited number of aircraft can be maintained easier, and share a parts bin. Also, the USAF maintainers may be helping to train the VF-101 maintainers.

Dino, just a quick question. Do you think that you will ever release a test version of the F-35, that has the large pitot/instrumentation booms attached, as were once available in your original models prior to the new mesh versions?

Well...test-flight booms are not planned. But could be added as a weight-dependant feature (i.e. change the pilot weight and make the boom appear)... I'll see if it is possible to add this to the next update.

As for the scenery, well... it is unlikely I will never find the time to complete it...but you never know.

Congrats on the delivery to Eglin :USA-flag: and thank you Dino for a wonderful model.

I think this is the "C" model that I snapped a screenie of a while back.

Dino, thanks for the quick reply! That sounds even better! I wish you well, and hope that it works and somehow finds its way into the next release. :)

Listening to the Video

Eglin is the primary training base for all branches, as well as foreign pilots/maintainers.

Exactly. The video used the code word "integrated" training for US Navy (Navy pilot flew aircraft to Eglin after getting some "shots" over Nav Pensacola), Marines and AF AND allies that have helped pay for the development of the aircraft. (Notice how the AF colonel corrected himself when he said "5th generation aircraft...ahhhh 5th generation aircraft available to allies". I think the Raptor is the first 5th generation aircraft.) Interesting video. Best to all....

Nice to see VF-10 skipper Jimmy Flatley's "Grim Reapers" skeleton logo back on the the tail of a fighter.

Test flight probes have been added to all models as optional, weight dependent feature. If the pilot weight is set above 200 lbs, they will show up.

I am thinking to add the anti-spin chute, too....

Dino,

fabulous news! This will really add a new dimension as we can now simulate the testing phases that each country will undoubtably go through for years to come, with a little more immersion! Thank you for the hard work!

I bought both the first and second versions of the F-35 and even though it is now freeware, I am glad to see it continually being updated. Some places that release planes that were payware as freeware pretty much just abandon them. To that, I thank you Dino! Now.... about that Eglin area scenery... :wavey:
