Fix for Virtavia Seaking in Heli traffic/multiplayer

(posted with permission from Phill of Virtavia).

First of all the original Seaking protection remains intact.

The solution is to fool the seaking protection that you are in the seaking when your not.

In the Virtavia seaking panel folder you will see a file called "Seaking_DDi.DLL".

In the panel.cfg you will see reference to this file at the end of the [vcockpit01] entry.(see below).

gaugeXX=SeaKing_DDI!DDI, 0,0,1,1

THE FIX

Copy the Seaking_DDI.DLL file to the panel folder of all your other aircraft. (yeah i know).

Next copy the file reference gaugeXX=SeaKing_DDI!DDI, 0,0,1,1 to the end of panel.cfg [vcockpit01] entry of all your aircraft, where XX in the above reference = the next sequential gauge number.

That's it . May take a bit of time if you have a lot of aircraft you wish to apply this to, but remember this is a work-around.

This is not tested as yet in multiplayer but it certainly works for Heli Traffic . As the display problem is the same for both i see no reason why it should not work for multiplayer.

Perhaps someone could test it and report back.

EDIT:Sorry forgot to mention, when you first load your other aircraft with this modification applied you will have to accept to run the gauge.Just as you did when you first installed the seaking.

thanks.

This sounds like an excellent fix. I will try it out in multiplayer as soon as possible. Here's hoping it works.

As for applying the fix to all aircraft, I will probably apply it only when needed.

Thanks.

I don't have any Virtavia products yet, but are they all this way? What about using them in FSrecorder, do you have to trick the system? The VRS F-18 Superbug for FS9 didn't allow any multiplayer or FSrecorder ability, which kind of turned me off to it.

Great, i thought it would work for multiplayer also.

And your welcome.

Sorry i don't know. I no longer use FS9. I don't have any of the products you mention either.

Maybe someone else can help you.

OK we just tried the fix in multiplayer and it appears to work just fine! I'm in a Ch-46, my friend is in the Seaking and I see him intact...Great job on the fix!

Thanks!

THE FIX

Copy the Seaking_DDI.DLL file to the panel folder of all your other aircraft. (yeah i know).

Alternatively just copy it ONCE and place it ithe "Gauges" folder of FSX. But you'll still have to amend the Panel.cfg of the affected aircraft.

Jim

Originally thought about that, but it's a .dll file not a gauge. Was not sure how or if it would work with the protection outside the panel folder. So i just kept it as per the seaking. Good option if it does though.
