"Fixing" flaps in WOPII 109

Last year I believe I posted a VC panel mod for the marvelous A2A Wings of Power Bf-109E for FSX, using gauges by Hauke Keitel (kedigau_up2.zip in the AVSIM file library).

Now I'm flying the 109 again to compare it with the CH 190. Something I've never liked about the FSX version of the 109 is the flaps, which deploy very slowly and require you hold to hold down the button while they're working. I know this is supposed to be more realistic, which is why "Fixing" (in the title line) is in quotation marks. But if possible, I'd like to make the flaps on this plane work the same as my other ones. Or, failing that, to be able to assign the flaps to an axis in the registered version of FSUIPC; I've tried that, but without success.

Any ideas? I apologize in advance to the good folks at A2A for trying to undo your hard work.
