Flanders Roads work resumes

If anyone was wondering, I havent given up on this project.
I stopped work a few months ago to move house.
The break gave me some space from what really is a monumental job but I'm back at it refreshed and keen as ever. (this morning I added the road between Pozieres and Thiepval, including the lane to Mouquet Farm, took me a while, I had forgotten a lot about the method)
I also managed to find more reference material, including Mike O'Connors latest book on the airfields of the Channel Coast.
As keen as I am in completing the work, I unfortunately have less time to devote to it, which means, brace yourselves, it wont be out by this Christmas, but God willing it's still coming.
Back to work....

Cheers

OMG, talk about synchronicity!!! Grinseed, I just posted about your airfields at Bruay en Artois, Bertincourt and Cappy. I am very pleased to hear that you intend to continue with this work. Please see my thread.
regards,
Mike

Welcome back Grinseed! I was just thinking about this project last week.

I hope that your new house is in order and that you are comfortable in it.

Hi Ravenna, isnt it weird how synchronicity always happens just at the most appropriate moment? :kilroy:
Glad you to hear you appreciate the detail of the sampler. :mixedsmi:
As for your base altitude problem at Bruay, I dont think the FR sampler could be the cause, as it only has data for limited areas south of Doullens and east of Amiens and the airfields of Valheureux, Vert Galant, Bertangles and Villers Bretonneux. Besides its in the very nature of the VTP1 lines and polygons, which the roads and airfields are made from, to automatically adjust to the terrain altitudes of any mesh used, which is why I chose to use the G2k utility in the first place.
I've only been away a few months but its like I have forgotten everything I ever knew about CFS2:isadizzy:...I'm sure it'll all come back to me eventually...I should be of more help then, but could your problem be something to do with a difference between the actual location altitude of your mesh and airbase details in the INFO folder? The contact points of the aircraft maybe?(probably not if you havent had problems with it before)...anyway thats all I'm good for for the moment. Sorry I cant be of more help.

In any case Ravenna email me at bruce4x at yahoo dot com if you'd like any details about Bruay that I have...its a damn hard airfield to find.

Thanks for the welcome back Jagd, the little cottage is simply the best home we've ever lived in, its real nice :d and the dust has just started to settle enough for me to get back to my favourite passtime :d. Putting roads on maps is easy enough, but remembering how I managed to make it all work in the game is going to take a little longer :costumes:
