    Post 16 Update

Post 17 Warning old domain name stealing credentials

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION - ALL MEMBERS PLEASE READ

Due to an increase in the number of new members who are trying to systematically download our entire Resource Library (one new member yesterday tried to download 3,000+ files AT ONCE!) we are being forced to implement some changes regarding who can download what, how many files at a time and at what speed. As the forums and Resource Library share the same bandwidth when the Library gets overloaded with demand like that the forums fall over, as we have all seen recently. It's sad that greed has forced our hand in this way but we must do something for the benefit of all our legitimate members (many of whom paid money for the upkeep of the site) and to prevent the files stored here being used for nefarious purposes. Many of our uploads have specific conditions tied to them that forbid uploading to any other site or deny uploading to any site that has a 'paywall' (i.e. a pay to download policy). Due to the number of mass download attempts recently we can only assume that somebody, somewhere, is attempting to stock up a new file library with our files and we owe it to our up-loaders to protect their files and intellectual property especially as many (like my own LDR Development projects) are made available at SOH only and are specified as such in the 'read me' files.

The forums and Resource Library will be taken offline as of 13:00 EDT with the forums coming back online shortly after without the resources library while we work on setting up permissions on the new Library module.

We hope our members understand why we need to do this and will bear with us while we implement the changes.

    Thanks in anticipation, SOH ADMINISTRATION

Downloads are now active. You may proceed with downloading as desired

The download limits are a work in progress. Some settings are likely to need tweaking in the coming days.

Here's the Facebook post for us Americans, the least multilingual people in the world...

Some news....
The update for the Curtis P-40N has been released, and the aircraft is now available for MSFS2024 as well. The update contains greatly updated aerodynamics, a full (but discreet) set of radios and a 2-axis autopilot in all models, chocks, and an updated Airshow pilot with a proper helmet. The update is free for all present owners. Those in 2024 will have to purchase it for the first time, but any subsequent updates will, of course, be free. If you can't get hold of the Manual, just get in touch at support@flight-replicas.com and we'll send one along.

Soon to come is also an update for the DH.83 Fox Moth. This includes aerodynamic tweaks, slightly changed viewpoint, chocks, radios and 2-axis autopilot and a few other things. This is a free update.

We are also working to bring the Supermarine Seafire Mk.III into MSFS2024 readiness. For this, a custom arrestor hook has been created which will allow you to use it on any carrier or surface you choose. As with the P-40N, it will be now also available for MSFS2024.Those in 2024 will have to purchase it for the first time, but any subsequent updates will, like the P-40N, be free.

Also coming soon will be the B-24 Liberator and DC-4, as freeware for MSFS2020 (only). These are nicely done port-overs of the FSX/P3D models by third-parties, which none-the-less hold up quite well in MSFS2020. It's doubtful we'll be able to get to these aircraft in full MSFS version any time soon. You'll have full access to flight dynamics, etc..

NOTE: there are a few small issues here and there, don't expect perfection, but nothing that should distract from an enjoyable flight. They also include some excellent repaints by other authors. The B-24 and DC-4 will NOT work in 2024, unfortunately. Planned release site for B-24 and DC-4 is flightsim.to. Due to their being free and port-overs done by others, they will not come with FR support, however.

The B-24 and DC-4 should be available soon, and an announcement will be made here.

Still working on the next full release - more info when it's a little further along.

Took the P-40N up in FS24 and works great! Two things:

1) You'll probably have to enable it in your library. I did; it had been disabled because the previous version was incompatible.
2) When I tried a hot start on the runway, the fuel control was set to "off" so the engine sputtered out as I was accelerating. Just flip to one of the center tanks and all's well.

Oh Mike, please...we need the Halifax and B-24 in FS24!! They are both at the top of my 'Planes Most Missed' list. ;)

Absolutely agreed, but I don’t think Mike did the conversion. He’s just been gracious enough to let them post these. I hope the folks doing the conversions can figure out how to fix the FS2024 issue because I don’t fly 2020 anymore and I owned both of these for P3D and they are awesome.

Had them all in P3D, brilliant, especially the Halifax - an amazing cockpit in VR :) hopefully that gets done too.
The ideal position would be native FS20 models (that work in VR) that are FS24 compatible - don't need the FS24 gimmickry and the P3D repaints can be easily converted :) :)

Yes, something like the AH Lancaster - intended for FS2020, but runs satisfactorily in FS2024. That would be enough for me, too.

Not available yet...

And the announcement did say "won't work in MSFS2024"...do any of the FSX/P3D ports (eg Ryan's) work in FS24?

Anyway, I'll be happy with FS20 :)
