• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Flight sim world (dovetail games) caveat emptor

Are we really discussing about what an "Early Access" is ? Is it really such a mysterious and "never heard before" expression for some people ?
It's just a beta (sometimes even an alpha), there's no secret about it anywhere. I don't know why people keep complaining about that...
 
I've been playing EARLY ACCESS Ultimate General Gettysburg and UG Civil War. The updates are consistent and add to the game play. The price is low while in early access and Steam responds positively to our request. DTG is doing exactly the same thing. The good news is that they are at least releasing a full flight sim with additions to come...

I don't remember exactly, but I've had at least one game in early access, and it was what was advertised: a work in progress alpha version of a game, which became complete (and quite nice too) a few months later. I saw it as a "preorder with benefits".
Same goes with Star Citizen, for example, although the waiting time is much longer (and the content is much bigger too...).
