Flight1 Super King Air B200 Released!

I've had a lot more time with it now.

F1 Team is working on a few issues for a SP, most of them really minor from what I read.

t's got some hidden gems that make it stand out from the rest of the planes (I really mean that). F1 is seriously looking at the thing I wrote about at the start and I really appreciate it. This plane has a lot of character, and it's freeking fast which makes it fun to fly and also makes it the #1 plane in my hangar. Even my little Legacy hasn't gotten much lovin'. The glass haters should appreciate that this is still very much a "pilot's plane," - lots of switches to click and things to turn, things to watch. I know some wonder about the vertical part of the G1000 but I pride myself on being able to use simple math to calculate on my own what I'll need to meet altitude requirements. Even though I've griped about some things the VNAV part didn't really bother me too much with this and the Mustang. The FPS are much improved based on my personal testing from T182 and Mustang variants of the G1000. I sincerely appreciate that part they did to optimize it.

Since I now trust they are ironing out the few bugs I'd highly recommend this plane. Worst case scenario you'll return it within 30 days thanks to F1's kind return policy. It's a win win for us the customer...

Wow, that's a very expensive airplane, is it really worth the asking price? I'm not sure I could justify that sort of money for that aircraft, particularly with FTX Global just around the corner. And I don't suppose it will work in Prepar3D either.

Ian.

They're ironing out a few bugs but yes it's worth it. You can read about their P3D stance in their simforums. 30 day return policy too. You can't lose.

Yes ! I was lacking a decent B200 since I left my beloved aeroworx on FS9. The Turbine Duke was a consolation, but the Duke is not a King... The other models recently published don't give the same interest that a good system modelisation gives. I can say now that my waiting has ended : this one flies well, is interesting to manage (the systems + the damage and wear modelisation) and have a better look than the others... Frankly, try it, with the money back guarantee, you will not loose your time.

Yeah it is certainly on the steep side, tho Accusim aircraft work out to about 50 bucks a pop, PMDG tubliners are usually around 80. Judging from the 777 fervor over at Avsim, I bet PMDG will make a nice profit. Whether it is worth it or not, that's certainly up to the simmer, but I think the sheer amount of research and programming that goes into each of these ultra complex simulations such as your Accusim warbirds and PMDG tubes does add up.

Personally I will probably will return my F1 King Air, I might hold out until this SP is released provided it is before my 30 purchase mark. Not returning it because it is a bad airplane, on the contrary it is an excellent airplane, perfect for someone who wants a very systems deep King Air. Just for me it doesn't quite fit my FS personality while the already pretty nice Turbine Duke fits very well. I need to be able to get out of the Darrington, Concrete, Harvey Field type <2500' strips @ with full fuel, which the B200 is a little too big for. Now, if F1 does an F-90, I might be all over that lol.

I look forward to the Milviz Mu-2 and the Razbam Merlin III. I also read somewhere on Avsim that RealAir will be updating the Dukes, possibly to their Legacy standards.

Cheers
TJ

IMHO,

Price point. Compared to other aircraft in it's price bracket, this seems like a reasonably priced offering. The bar seems to be inching up with every high end release. Personally, I would ultimately not balk at the price, although I would do some serious shopping prior to spending the $$$.

Considering the R&D costs to produce a project at this level the asking price seems fair. The cost benefit analysis is pretty straight forward. Sixty bucks may buy you and the wife a reasonable dinner out. The same sixty bucks can deliver many hours of aviation enjoyment. My suggestion..spend $120 and fly in peace. :173go1:

There are still some great sleepers out there for much less for those who are inclined in that direction.

This beauty will probably end up in my hangar at some point, the question is do I really need three Kings anywhere but Texas hold'em? I've been promising myself a little present in the near future. It's nice to have additional choices.

About the addon cost, words and words was written in many forums around the net. here my two cents.

Surely F1 B200 is a great addon, a great aircraft like F1 Citation Mustang (i'm flying the mustang since 2009).

Now i will try to explain why the F1 b200 is too expensive.
The cost of an addon is determined "by the market" (offer and demand) . It's time to do a little review of the market. I made the review only ofr airliners....yeah i know the b200 isn't an airliner, but the Airliner's market is the top of the market. With this reference we can decide if the addon price is high or low. All this reasoning is based on the next idea, More complex, more expensive.

Airliners:

Notes: Prices at 2013/07/20. All prices from original developer or vendor (not resellers). All prices for FSX downloaded version.

We should consider many variables in the final price....for example, in the airliners category a glass cockpit is very more complex to simulate than an older as dC-9 classic, logically a NGX should be more expensive than a DC-9 Classic. Aans, of course, the price of an addon (or other thing) descent with the time (the price of the FSL Concorde is very cheap today)...

We made a little review of airliners market to remark that F1 B200 is too expensive. An airliner is bigger, heavier and more complex than a King Air, or other GA aircraft.
