Flightsim.to is most irritating, exasperating, and vexatious

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but Flightsim.to is the hardest to use download site I have ever used. It is constantly asking if I am a damn robot. I tell it no when it loads, and when I try to download something, it asks again. I only go there now when I really need something they might have, like a livery or AOA template.

In the past I would purchase an airport or two, now and then. Not anymore. It is too much trouble.

Is it me (I am not a Premium member), or does everybody have trouble with this site?
It´s just one click ! Then it´s easier to Navigate then any other site , just get use to it ~352403741_10232040229415413_3825763620323239722_n.jpg

My only gripe is that it seems like not all new uploads make it to the "NEW UPLOADS" tab - often come across stuff in the category sections that I don't remember seeing as a new upload - or perhaps old age is creeping up on me ....

not all new uploads make it to the "NEW UPLOADS" tab

The new uploads are not synced to the last time you logged in; you may need to scroll back through 4 or 5 pages to find a new upload that you remember from the last time you logged in.

If you go to this page you should see all new uploads since last time you "marked all as read," in reverse chronological order:

That's what I have as my bookmark for Flightsim.to. Hitting the "Mark all as read" button then zeroes out the new uploads, and next time you log in you'll see all the new files since.

And this page will show you ever file you've downloaded that's been updated:

Another nice thing about Windsailor (plug! plug!) is that you can get to both with a single icon in the browser.

Well, I am not only a paid member, but a contributor. I have never had a problem. Always send me an email when there is an update to a product ordered. As a matter of fact I get a free 3 months paid membership if I upload four or more sceneries. I have no complaints.

The flightsim.to scenery map is the greatest feature of all the addon websites I have ever seen.
There's simply nothing better than that, for sceneries.
Of course, *some* addons are misplaced on the map, which is unfortunate, but I can live with that.

Regarding the planes addons, I never use the search from the .to site. I search from Google which is much more efficient at finding direct links to a plane on the .to website :D

Now, for the repaints, it's a whole different story...

I agree there are issues there but it's basically the only site with MSFS related downloads. There are a few other random files scattered across the internet.

I think the site is so sluggish now because they want people to sign up for premium membership. From what I understand the downloads are much faster if you do that. I think may have throttled regular users because it wasn't always this slow. I've been a premium member off and on (whenever I can get it free due to my numerous uploads of repaints lol).

The sluggishness of the site isn't a huge reason to skip it imo - sometimes I just try to get on at a different time.

Regarding the search engine - I agree it isnt' fabulous. Unfortunately I think that uploaders don't add search terms into their files... and the site isn't smart enough I guess to find keywords. For example when I make a paint I add terms like "cessna, my username, the N number I'm painting, the addon model, etc" to allow people to find my stuff.

edit: I would recommend just googling the file you want haha - it seems to pull up the direct link everytime for me!
same here re google

I use the flightsim.to menu to search for liveries:

Liveries (heading at the top of the main page) - All Categories - scroll down to Popular Categories and make a selection from the menu on the left.

I'm a paid subscriber and have no problems downloading. As mentioned, the search funtion is a headache for liveries, as a lot of aircraft are not in the catagories that they would normally fall in.

I have been a member of flightsim.com and avsim.com for a loong time, but lately, they keep treating me as an invader, or something. And my built in antivirus in Windows Edge browser insists that their files are all questionable, and I have to tell the downloader to keep the files. Of course, they're always clean, but why does MS think otherwise. This almost never happens on other, non FS sites.
