Flying Stations down?

fallenphoenix1986

SOH-CM-2022
Just popped over to check out the Flying Stations forum and was hit with a redirect, first to some generic hosting page and then off to youtube....

Craig

I didn't get the re-direct (using Firefox 6) but all I saw was a blank white page instead of their home page. The forums all appear to be working though when accessed via a direct link.

Maybe they are updating the main page ready for an announcement of some sort.

Thanks for checking, though I now hink its more than likely me...

Had a virus attacka couple of days back, thought I'd nuked it but I'm getting redirects all over the place now.

Win defender, Malwarebytes and Adaware coming up with nothing though....

Craig what OS and web browser are you using?

What type of internet connection do you have DSL, cable or dial up?

Some of these viruses make changes to the way you connect to the internet. This could be where your redirect is coming from. No viruse software will be able to detect this as it is a normal function of LAN settings.

In IE (even if you do not use IE) Goto tools/internet options

On the connection tab select LAN settings

What settings are in this window?

Thanks for the offer,

I'm using:

Win 7 64
IE (though have Firefox ready to install)
Wireless DSL

Lan settings:

Automatically detect

Craig

edit: so far I've now ran:

AVG, Avira, Malwarebytes, Windows Malware removal, Windows Defender and Adaware.

That setting is correct. Some times what they do is change the settings to send you to their proxy which is what messes up your connection.

Are you still having an issue with that page I am not getting any redirects from the main page.

Odds are good you are clean if Malwarebytes and your anti virus say you are. Question is what changed that is causing the issue.

You may want to check your DNS settings. This also could make things go wonky. The normal setting is to Obtain DNS serer address automatically.

This would be in your network settings under the wireless adapter properties.

Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then click properties

Before yo make any changes make sure you copy down the old settings if there are any

Sorry All,

It appears we had a service issue this morning that was soon rectified.

Thanks for the concern and helping people out to find us again if they had browser issues.

All the best

Sketchy.

Sorry I missed the excitement, it was ok when I closed down last night and ok when I opened up this morning.

Low and behold my internetz is buggered again.... apparently ticket master now = adult dating services....

Would taking an angle grinder to a virus coders nether regions be an acceptable way to spend an afternooon?
