Overall, a nice flyer. . .however it didn't seem to want to respond to AP inputs, in particular 'heading" or "GPS/Nav". It held altitude fine and once you were on course it would hold that track easily with only minor corrections from time to time. However, hit the hdg hold button and she immediately goes into a hard right turn that if left unchecked will corkscrew the airplane into the ground. I'm going to have a look at the AP section to see if something sticks out but for now I'm just using the AP for Alt Hold. There are several gauges on the Nav Panel popup that are not compatible with FSX and need to be removed and replaced or simply removed. The Attitude indicator is locked in a 29degree left bank and I'm not sure why, looking into that as well.

Still in all I enjoyed the one flight I've had with it. . .cruises (with my firewall way of flying) at 300kts GS. If it had been under 200kts I might have still kept it, but much lower than say, 150 and she was a goner, lol. I feel the need to do some VC updating and probably newer Hi-Res exterior work, but it'll be whenever I feel like messing with it. . .right now I'm just flying the Round the World Hop list on our Flight Server.

Something I just noticed about the gauges and someone who knows more about this than I can comment. . .the gauges for the airplane appear to be from the Wings of Power He219, is that a payware aircraft or was it dropped to freeware at some point?

I agree with you Falcon, this is a nice bird but one other thing that needs a little touch up is this airplane's taxi speed - just for fun, because I was constantly toeing the brakes after first startup and parking brake release, once I got on the Rwy 34/16 taxiway at KSEA I didn't touch the brakes as an experiment, this thing got up to almost 40 KIAS and still climbing before I just had to step in.

EDIT: I just got off the A2A website - the -219 is still offered by them for FS9 and FSX as a payware aircraft, about $20 and $25 respectively.

Had forgotten about the taxi speed, but you're right it does need to be tweaked for sure. As far as the gauges are concerned I believe I'm just going to fire up FSPanel Studio and see what freeware vintage gauges I have laying around and replace those from the 219. Plus, while not authentic, I can at least read them at a glance.

Gents,
Many thanks for pointing that out, and humble apologies to WoP/A2A. I had used one panel with WoP gauges for my own developing and made several others for other sims and for uploading, and guess what!! :redface-new: :banghead:

I have just uploaded a new pack with completely freeware panel gauges, not as nice, but usable and by the book.

Cheers

I was looking at the antennae on the nose and couldn't help but think "Wonder how many channels that gets on the tv?"

I'm going to have to check it out. I don't really remember having a Ta 154 in the hangar since back in the CFS 1 days..

Canopy glass [and props] still has cloud issues...so not quite 'native', but nice looking plane all the same....;)

Thanks guys, I will pass it on to Chris. A real beauty, he did an excellent job with it. Yes, not a native FSX ac, but still very usable, and good to fly around in.

:very_drunk:
