The Fokker EV, nicknamed by the alliees "Flying Razor", became operational in august 1918, but was grounded by several deadly accidents due to wing failures consecutive to bad workmanship, she came back to the front in october 1918 with problems solved, on Fokker DVIII' s name, but it was too late for her to play a significative role before war's end, despite her remarquable performances.

This is an authorised re-work of Gary Aumaugher's fabulous Fokker DVIII, that was available on the "Aerocrate" web site.

The model is from Gary Aumaugher and team, and was re-worked By Martin Klein with ModelConverterX, Gmax and SCASM to provide the most animations and the best rendering possible with multiple specularity levels materials, as an accurately detailed cockpit.

The original Fokker EV / DVIII cockpit was rather spartan with a minimum of instruments, the Virtual Cockpit was modified in this way, with dedicated authentic gauges.

The aircraft.cfg and Fok_D8.air file are from John Fortin ( Aka Polar Lion ).

John's original .dp file was slightly modified to permit bullet holes and damaged textures swapping animations to the model.

The panels BMP's are from Kevin Driver, the Fokker _d8.gau is from Martin Klein

The sounds are from the West Front Team Fokker EIII.

The Fok DVIII livery is the original one modified to fit the new model, the four other liveries are from Martin Klein, and depict a jasta 6 Fokker EV, august 1918, a Fokker DVIII flown by Hans Goerth, MarineFeldJasta III in october 1918, a Fokker DVIII flown by Theodor Osterkamp, MarineFeldJasta II in october 1918, and finally a Fokker DVIII flown by Gotthard Sachsenberg , MarineFeldJasta I, october 1918.
