I don't know why I remembered it being haze gray, then. In any case, It was verrrryyy nice. You have my condolences.

I did two tours up there: First in Avi with VMAQ-4, and then again later as a career planner with the I&I staff at the Marine reserve Combat Engr unit up on the hill, by the MWR Auto hobby shop.

One item I had bought/added to that jeep was a oxygen/propane fired .30 cal replica machine gun on a pedestal mount. Looked quite real, and was loud as heck. Shot fire in front of the muzzle a couple inches, and if you didn't have earplugs in, you would regret it. Damn, I miss that jeep. I ran the flight line for VQ-1 my entire tour. NC

Cool little addon. I had the original, but this one ups the game a bit. I forgot how useful and immersive this mod was.

You put a pedestal mount .30 on it? Awwwwwwww, man ....

... that is a heart breaker...

Does this simply replace the "progressive taxi" with a moving vehicle? Can it be removed if I decide I don't like it after all? Does it work ok with SP2/Acceleration?

1. Does not replace, adds another way to get from here to there. You still can turn the progressive taxi marks on and off.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.

Ok. Thank you.

Later: Hey, this is good. It certainly beats those arrows on the ground, which aren't all that good as far as immersion is concerned. I'm running it using the JF Traffic360 Follow Me van, but I suppose any vehicle will do. Is there a good jeep I could use for less modern airfields'

If you can do without rolling wheels, I guess any static jeep object can be used as a model. Might need to adapt "static_cg_height=" in the sim.cfg to avoid having it in blimp or submarine mode.

I've been fiddling with the Follow Me van, and I've got it running using a USN jeep, but the wheels don't rotate, though they do on the original version of the jeep I am using, gbjeepfsx1.zip from FlightSim. Any suggestions, please?

Did you use the model directly or run it through ModelConverterX before?

The animations used for the wheels are the standard c_tire_still (or_blurred) and c_wheel (for steering).

Other than that, the only other thing that could influence wheel rotation is "wheel_radius=" in the sim.cfg.

I used the sim.cfg from the original DVO FollowMe pack, edited to change the static_cg_height so the jeep sat properly on the ground and to use the jeep's model, sound, texture and panel folders. I deleted the original aircraft.cfg in favour of the new sim.cfg, and also deleted the air file. I haven't touched anything else, so if the animations are in the model maybe I should start trial-and-erroring with the wheel radius? I didn't use ModelConverter, but before I started tinkering the jeep worked perfectly as a drivable.

Chewcked the model in MCX. Wheel animations are standard, so it's either the wheel radius or living with static wheels.

Looking for "Follow me car" FSX

Hi, I'm french flightsimer on FSX Deluxe. I'm looking for "Follow me 2" but unfortunately, I can'f find it anywhere. Could you help me please ? There's is a bug in FSX and we can' activate ground way to runway or gate. It should be great if you can either indicate a link to download, or send me the file.
Thanks in advance and regards.

Ah, DBS. . .be forewarned, I purchased a product from them several years ago (Airport GPS) that claimed to work in P3D. After weeks of trying and retrying (with no help from the support staff, which was non-existent) I attempted to get my money back at which point they stopped answering any requests and advised me to send future correspondence to another e-mail address. . .that turned out to be their way of getting rid of me because I never received any answers to my e-mails and never got my money back and Simmarket refused to get involved as well. Just be aware that you are at risk working with this company if something doesn't work.

Good ole Airport GPS..I remember it well. It worked for a few weeks and then died quietly. Never could get it to work again.
Ditto to the no support for it.

I used "Follow Me" and liked it a lot. A new PC and I switched to "Follow Me 2" Excellent little programs that are easy to customize.
GSX is nice also and adds even more options but not free
