Font; British WWII Instruments?

Hey all,

Anyone recommend the closest Font possible to what they used on common Spitfire gauges?

Seems they were similar to alot of General Aviation gauges in America as well after the war.

Bill,

I am not the one to say, but this Font from Simmer's Paint Shop is very close. You may have to altered the '6' and '9' a tetch, but it's very close.

After seeing norab's close-up, I have to beat my brow and tell you to give the Font in my zip a try Bill, it is far better than Ariel.

Bill, you may find something in the DIN family. Technically, it's a bit more modern but you can modify one or two of the characters and/or also use Franklin Gothic for some of them.

Beware!!!! Quite a few "restored" gauges in pics on the internet have used modern fonts. Very rare to find someone willing to hand-apply numerals these days, I guess, easier to run a screenprint or laser dial face.

Party on.:wavey:
