For CFS2 MB users...

Creating a CFS1 mission conversion guide has been on my "to do" list for a long time now, but a little prodding by Talon got me motivated to get off my butt and do it.

I've completed parts I and II of this document, but want to see what those who have experience in Mission Builder think of this, specifically whether it's clear enough, whether there are enough examples, and most importantly whether you can follow along with the examples I provided and complete the conversions successfully.

A copy has already been sent to Cody Coyote as well.

The document is attached, and thank you!

Cody Coyote responded with a good critique and a couple of clarification suggestions which I will unquestionably incorporate. Does anyone else have any thoughts as of yet?

In line with "flying in different languages", may be someone is interested in having yours or other tutorials translated in spanish. Not google translated, but something that can be read without trouble for the not so familiars with the english. If so, and with the proper author´s permission I volunteer for doing the translation. I could make a try and send it to some other spanish native speaker. And with hes Ok I would, if there is anyone interested, I would upload it here.

Other than that I apreciate your work Rami, and of course of Cody excellent MB tutorial. Looking foward for your complete and upgraded version of another of your excellent tutorials.

Cheers, Discus

Discus,

When I am finished, I would be THRILLED if you and others fluent in different languages (French, German, and Italian, especially) would take my ETO scenery guide and this document and translate it. I think that would be a truly welcome (not to mention needed) incentive to mission builders who might struggle with English to have instructions in their native language!

This is a really cool idea! :salute:

I´ll start today with your ETO scenery guide. Depending on the amount of time it takes me and the results meassured by others maybe I could translate your campaigns readme files.

I don´t need nor like it but ¿Is there a spanish version of CFS2? If so it could be added to the language package file swap list.

Discus,

If you're going to do campaigns, let me know, because certain ones have had the final update while others have not, and I don't want you to have to do the translation work for something that's obsolete.

Ok. I have kept and will keep an eye in your campaign update thread. But I will contact you before that.

Discus,

My original Mission Building tutorials were translated into French, Japanese, and Portuguese, but never Spanish (to my knowledge). If you want to translate my Mission Building Handbook into Spanish for uploading here or elsewhere, consider this as my permission to do so.

I will be pleased to do it! And it will give me the "need" to read it again and learn it thoroughly. I will do it with great pleasure.:jump:

First problem for any translation with screen captures of user interface screens. If we have in mind only spanish speakers/readers, I think they would have a Spanish CFS2 install, that I don´t know if it even exists. If it does, it would be better to now what each interfase bottons says in spanish or better yet to replace the screen captures with spanish interface ones. I´ve started Rami´s ETO scenery install guide and have finished with a mix of spanish and english words (for the interfase bottons and images of the UIRES). It still needs some knowledge of english language. I think that it´s better than nothing but not complete.

Second thought: For this kind of users, wouldn´t it exist a spanish simmers web page?

Still there would be of help for the medium knowledge english speakers. So, I´ll keep on translating.

Hi Discus

Yes, there is a spanish version of CFS2.

And I volunteer to proofreading your translation.
