Bjoern

worst developer ever
...renders!

Don't expect anything usable too soon though.
I'm an awfully slow developer.

Looking good there, Bjoern ! :applause:

Can i book my fav paint already ? >

I worked on the FS2K2 model back in the old days. Will be wonderful to see the swift and gorgeous lines of the Do-328 finally back in FSX again ! Great subject, Bjoern, mach es gut, mein freund !

Talking about lines.... don't you think you're overdoing it a bit there with the panellining ??.... :d

Tschüss!

Thanks, guys!

Yeah, it's a Dornier 328-130. Going to do the -300, say jet version, as well.

Not from me. :d

The only paints I'm going to do myself will be in definately Cirrus and maybe United Express or Air Alps. For Welcome Air, Sun-Air, Hainan, etc...I'll provide a paintkit. ;) :d

I'd only need Cirrus' livery anyways. :d

IFDG's?

That one was awesome since it had a (basic) VC!

Haha, nah. Just test textures to check proper alignment. :d

- Edit: Judging from this article, I'll maybe even do a half fictional freight version.

Someone was gonna do something along that line but they never got to far I forget even where to check

She has some nice lines to her, I love that nose
Nicely done :applause:

*Bump*

Don't worry, just showing off.

I taught myself working with bones and Inverse Kinematics yesterday. The awesomly excellent jetway tutorial on FS Developer was of huge help and funnily the only thing I needed to get the job done.

Starting point was the 328s passenger door which I had already animated with keyframes.

Now I wanted to animate the folding mechanism of the rods and rails. Doing this with keyframes was next to impossible (inaccurate), so I used bones which basically make *Max and FSX assume that the parts are solid and connected with rotatable joints. Then I added Inverse Kinematics which basically provide "handles" (they look like the two crosses at the bottom). If you grab a handle the bone array will react appropriately (think of it like a marionette string).

So anyways, here's the whole array with the door in the "open" position:

This is the door a bit closed and at the furthest point at which the folding mechanism displays correctly without me having to interfere. I just touched the animation slider which controls the door, the rest is the bones and the IK at work. This means that the rods and rails move all on their own.

Bones are a cool way to animate things and they definately made my life a bit easier!

This post might be confusing for regular flightsimmers and developers might find it no big deal, but for me this is just about a breakthrough. I'm one happy camper! :d
