Achim mentioned in passing the other day that he thought he remembered you requesting a version of the RAF airbase at Reykjavik. I have included a picture of this new base, as well as the revised Keflavik airfield to go with it.

However, the cityscape looks a little dull and lifeless. Would a GSL port here interest you, or others? I can't say it would get much use other than the Kondors! campaign, but I'd be willing to make the eye candy if it would be appreciated...

Yes he very kindly made me an RAF Reykjavik base, he had already had done a Keflavik ( if there's updates then great!) ..AND yes your offer of a bit more scenery would be much appreciated, it is a bit barren up there!

When I get to finishing that CC Lib I etc would be good to have total scenery to go and return to for those VLR convoy missions, thanks.

Mark,

Here are some pics of the layout for the harbor. It includes a breakwater connecting a barrier island to the mainland, as well as a breakwater to protect the harbor. I also included a forested island with a lighthouse, and piers of varying sizes with warehouses, access ramps, and plenty of space for shipping, even for the biggest vessels.

Now I have to do the support facilities, including warehouses and such, but we're getting there.

Edit: Safari won't let me attach the pictures, but I'll include them when I return home.

Is this what you had in mind? Send me a PM with your e-mail addy and I'll send you the GSL file, which includes Achim's Reykjavik, as well as the harbor ship and AA layout, as well as a test mission.

I don't want to release it publicly just yet, until Achim releases his revised Norwegian and Icelandic airfields.

I didn't notice a major problem...even with the ships and AA guns included.

This will be another dangerous scenery!

It´s so eye candy that it will be difficult not to fly low and slow to have good a look at it. Doing that and getting too focused on the scenery is an excelent formula for getting a wing trapped in a mast of a ship!!:icon_lol:

If you upload it I will be one of the many to get it installed.

Thanks! :redface: Considering the quality of your work over the years, I consider that extremely high praise. :salute:

I'm come to really appreciate the things you can do with Xavierb's piers in tight spaces, where elevation away from the coast rises quickly. While wolfi's large piers are great for flat spaces with few curves, they just don't offer the same flexibility.

You can also create different pier formations and all other kinds of neat tricks!
 
Andrew, that is really superb!

As Jagd says, gone from a barren featureless bit of the North Atlantic, to a hive of industry. And that's how it was, a busy little place.

I'll pm with my addy, and yes would be good to release as a whole Icelandic pack. Thanks.
