The annual "Wings over Gillespie" show is this upcoming weekend. While I was unable to attend last year I recall that a few of our members did go. It would be a cool opportunity for the local SOH folk to meet and put faces to forum names. I'm planning to attend on Saturday. While I cannot guarantee it there is a good chance that anyone I hook up with might get a tour of the "inner sanctum" (aka our hangar).

I used to live in Santee, and my dads work was essentially right on the airfield, so yea... been there many, many times. Great airshow! I remember one year seeing the Piasecki H-21, and another time the Ford Tri-motor. Not to mention all the other great aircraft there! I'm in Florida now so I cannot make it, but I'll be waiting to see plenty of photos from everyone... especially of that N9M! And as a request... some Bearcat and Corsair shots too!
 
I hope to be there Saturday morning early, with my son - first time he has asked to come along..

Sadly, it doesn't look like I'll be making it this year. It will be a busy weekend. Hopefully next year I can go, but it doesn't look like it will be this year. Be sure to get lots of photos of the various aircraft, guys! (Helicopters are aircraft, too. :icon_lol:)
