For you Phantom Phreaks.

Incredible detail in 1/32 model aircraft, but the finished size makes them difficult for me to find adequate display space. They also tend to be rather expensive.

Yeah, the price point and the floor space kills it for me as well.
Still, there is a market out there. :geek: I can see this if you were former flight crew or a maintainer and now you're retired with some time on your hands. Attention Zippy and Navy Chief and others, y'all know who you are. :wavey: Just park it on the dining room table next to the I Love Me wall. I'm sure the MRS would enjoy it.

Still, for that kind of money I would expect some full-detail engines and something to stuff inside the nose cone if you wanted to position it Open.
Flight/ground crew should also be included and an APU wouldn't kill you if it was included. :indecisiveness:

Also, friends don't let friends build anything using CA glue. That stuff never stops crystalizing and eventually you'll have more detachable pieces. :dizzy:

I've got a few 1/18th BBI warbirds (F4U,P40,P51,P38,UH60,UH1) and they do have a 1/32nd F-4, much cheaper than the 1/18 JSI F-14 for $2000 USD. You wouldn't have to build it like a traditional model. As a Tomcat fan, found the old 4D Vision 1/32nd F-14A prebuilt/painted with removable panels, thought about sending it to a pro-builder to add better detail.

I'm into 1/18th scale "die cast" cars and trucks. :wavey:
I find the good stuff (all doors/hood/trunk open plus easter eggs) then tear them apart and rebuild them detailed-out using everything I know from the plastic model days. Die-cast tends to be a LOT more "survivable" than plastic (its designed to take a beating) and its a lot easier working in 1/18th scale on the old fingers and eyes. ;)
