Had it since it was launched and it's a nice aircraft...don't know why it's gone freeware?

Musn't be selling anymore. There's a few aircraft in there I can't imagine will be strong sellers recently - a combination of high price and relative obscurity. Says they're removing 'a few titles', so maybe we'll see aircraft like the Scimitar and Skyray amongst their freeware files soon?

I saw this on Avsim this morning and will D/L it tonight. I have their "Western Front" scenery/AI package that they gave away last year, and this will be a nice match.

Alpha should release their other scenery/AI packages that they no longer sell, like Bien Hoa AB and Roosevelt Roads NAS. I have both, and they're pretty good.

It's always nice to see a package you paid hard earned money for become freeware. Bad for me good for everyone else!

Have you tried Dave Garwood's FSX Hunters?

Yes and I did really like it.

Nothing against Dave in the slightest, but Alphasim's looks a little more complex and detailed, and I would love to have it.

The thin nature of my wallet prevents me from doing so.

You're quite welcome to your own opinion, but the CBFSim team pride themselves in the accuracy of their addons, and can pretty much guarantee that the DG Hunters are more accurate than the AS one. Not to mention the wide variety of models, including the twin sticks.

The Hunter doesn't have square wingtips, for one:

I didn't really give Dave Garwood's a fair run for it's money to be perfectly honest. I had problems with the glass (it was FAR too dark) and This put me off a little. Is there a remedy for this? Looking at it now I don't know why I ever uninstalled it.

That doesn't even look like the Alphasim hunter Tweek, I'm pulling mine out now mate!

It's taken directly from the Alphasim website, so don't blame me! :)

I'm not entirely sure how to fix it, but there certainly is a way. I'm sure someone will be able to help.

In fact I agree with you with regards to the glass, and wouldn't mind a fix myself!

Tweek I'm sorry, but mine looks fine to me!

I think your shot is of an early model and not the same as that KLu version mate!

I should think that as long as Flight1 sell the Hunter, there will be little chance of it going out as freeware.

My source files say that the SE.5a is a good 3 and a half years old now. She's had a pretty good run. Time to retire to the open crowd I guess! Enjoy. Thanks to Phil.

Dan.

Much appreciated, Dano, a fine biplane for open cockpit flightseeing. A big thanks from me for a full aircraft gift including gauges. Times are tight, wallets thin, etc., and a gift like this is not to be ignored. Enjoyed my 1st simulated flight.

That 92Sqn model is an F.6 according to the description in the shop, and the KLu Hunter is actually an ex-RAF F.6A. ;)

To me, the shape of the wingtips just isn't right, far too angular and squared off, but if you're happy with it then excellent!

The thing is mate I agree with you, yours looks wrong to me! I really only fly the MK58/ 58A Swiss Versions, think they were like our F9's the only one's of ours I fly is the F6 and looking at those they do look squared off to me, I had never noticed that though mate! I'm happy with the VC its lovely, but now you mention it I'm now not with the external lol!
