Forum shuts down my explorer

Setting up a computer using windows XP right along side my trusty 98. Problem is when I come to the forums I get a Microsoft Visual C runtime error followed by an Explorer needs to shut down and then I am off the internet. Only happens on these forums, works great in all other aspects. Do I need to update Explorer?

Ideas much appreciated

Crikey are you browsing the net on Win98? Did you load XP on a FAT32 file system so that the two OSs can share files. Be careful FAT32 is highly suseptable.
If I were you I'd install firefox onto XP and only use that for browsing. You do have some anti virus don't you? DON'T ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS HERE

No, I updated a computer in my office so I took this one and did a system restore to its original out the box setup. did not add anything other than my flightsim stuff. Like I said , I can D/l at simvation or what ever, it just doesn't like this forum.

Naturally I am posting this from another computer

The Visual C runtime error is a cause for concern.

Causing browsers to crash whilst loading some script is how malicious code is delivered.
Try firefox

If you are running the original restore, the IE version may need to be updated to at least IE 7. Its a free download if you can find it, but IE8 or IE9 can be gotten from MSoft.

Make sure your system is up to date with the numerous Windows updates, many of which address vulnerabilities in the Internet Explorer browser.

I agree with
Try firefox
