Found this at the News Stand the other day.

You'd be time travelling anyway in an aircraft designed in 1947 but brought up to 21st century specs! :icon_lol:

Maybe future plans will fit into your 80's theme better!

No sweat. I'll fly it anyway.

We can change it out for a brick if you like... but it's only useful function then will be to ring for pizza I'm afraid.

Ah, the good old brick. A perfect device to communicate "Your landing fees are too damn high!" in an unmistakeable way.

What about a C64 strapped to the right seat? Or a Texas Instruments calculator? Or a nerdy co-pilot with pen&paper? Or a talking dog to also cover the flower power and disco era or... :icon_lol:

How about a knight Rider repaint? :D

I guess you can call it a KITT Plane?

Great magazine cover preview (very clever) this upcoming Navion FSX release lol!
Even better that it's gonna be freeware. :applause::applause:
Looks great so far. Look forward to flying it!

I was stationed at Turner AFB, Georgia 1661-->1964. The base aero club had one Navion and two T-34 Mentors. You guessed it the T-34's were always in the air. I flew one of the T-34 to work on my private ticket:jump:

Just to whet your appetite while waiting for the release I thought I'd show you a feature not revealed yet, your very own Flight Simulator smart phone!
Looking forward to this and thank you for using a smartphone for the background and not an iphone. :applause:

:ernae:

Well like Android, our expert gauge man Dave intended this phone app to be built upon and expanded by others for different aircraft too... so we thought android and its Linux roots were a good match.

Mostly its because none of us had an iphone to model it on... Dave has a Samsung funnily enough!

Not that I'd ever get in depth to have the need for an android app to fly so no worries. I do however have an iphone. Hey there's a rock. I bet you I can hit it with my iphone! :pop4: OOPS, now I need a new phone :icon_lol:

Boredom is a real problem... especially when watching Cagney and Lacey... :D[/QUOTE]

you mean 'Gag Me and Mace Me' ? ?

In depth? Come on Don, Larry modeled the plane and dave did the phone! its as deep as a puddle :D (only kidding) Nah, its got charts, aircraft visiblility options, checklists, weather 'reporting app' things like that... useful and a bit more realistic than fsx has been perhaps.

Hey now come on... I love the show. Granted its my first time watching it (i'm not old enough to have been alive when it aired)
Plus seeing powerful successful women kicking butt in a mens world is quite empowering actually... so nah... Gag Uzbeki and mace Samuels... [/feminist]

Take my comment like a grain of sand. I was merely reflecting I don't like the iphone. They have more junk in the trunk than I need. Back on topic. Sorry for the side track.

sorry kid - I WAS there and while its true the show was ahead of its time (sadly) for very element you point out and I have no issue with that at all...it was still bad 80's TV...(in my view)

plus the nickname wasn't bad wordplay...

My young grand-niece is waiting for her "Hello Kitty" Navion. She liked it.
It will be done! (Sorry Larry!)

Not a bad pun...

And to me, bad 80s tv is awesome!

Want to check your current fuel and range at the current speed? It's on your phone!

Want to check your current weight to see if you are below the maximum landing weight? Can you guess where you will find that info? Yup, it's on your phone!

Want to run through all your checklists? You guessed it!

All this info plus a lot more all available on one pop-up gauge!

Dave worked wonders on this feature and we almost had to nail his fingers to the desk to stop him creating more stuff! Over 2,200 lines of XML code in a single gauge! :isadizzy::pop4:

OMFG!

Edit: I hope that this beautiful model will be P3D compatible. Otherwise I will just have to follow the thread and wish.
