Yep, but even at that mighty speed, the bullets went a lot faster, and it still took one heap of raw courage to go in for an attack on a formation like that.

Hard to even imagine and that might be one of the best aspects of this very nice package. It can give folks a good idea of the sheer scope of the situation!

This looks fun. Be cool to use the AI traffic method to have a formation over Europe. Fly up to it one of your favorite Little Friends and cruise around the formation escorting it to target and back. Any suggestions on how to construct the flightplan with TTools (or maybe a kind sole more talented than I am might post one here)? :sneakiness:
 
I must be doing something wrong (I am using P3D).

Run AIFP - navigate to choose the B17 Formation. Put in start and finish airports without any ETA times, only start time of 6:00 after choosing the correct area time in the drop down, choose ATC reg, put in altitude of 50 to get 5000 (just to start with), put in to show if traffic is 1% and to fly every 24 hours. My other traffic is showing.

All my traffic are FSX format (not fs2004) and setting for traffic is set at 30% or so.

If I go to the start airport and wait - it isn't there. If I go to the end aiport at the arrival time and wait - it doesn't come.
- on planG it doesn't show
- choosing a new view for AI traffic - it isn't there on the list.

The B17s are under simobjects/airplanes so cannot work out what is wrong. Anyone know?

My best guess is these are FS9 models with shadows disabled as in P3D these AI do not show. Nothing to do with FSX , sorry for posting it here.
 
Ok, thanks for that....still have confirmed that both it and some of my ai which did show in fsx doesn't in p3d.

So def a p3d issue for me. Sorry again wrong forum.
 
If you have TacPack you can set this group as a tanker and can slow it down to 180 kts with a quick edit which although a little fast for a B-17G group isn't out of the realms of the possible. Means you can control them with race track patterns and so on.

Looking forward to the new Me262 but in the meantime....

The AICarriers method works but I am guessing there is a speed limitation with that program as I set the formation box to cruise at 180 but I am blasting past the formation when my airspeed is roughly matched.
