FR P-40N Manual available

mike_cyul

SOH-CM-2025
Just a little heads-up that anyone interested can now download a copy of the P-40N for free, from the Flight Replicas wesite here. The P-40N website pages are now up and running, so you can also see the packages that will be available when the P-40N is released. No firm time for the release yet, but it's not far off. It all depends on what I hear back about the installers that were sent out this evening. :)

Cheers Mike .. as Fredo the Frog would say ... Read it ! :sheep:<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

Honestly , all this waiting has just about killed me !!..popping into the website several times a day and here at SOH to see if any annoucements have been made .

I cant cope but I'll suck on the manual 'till your ready .
:santahat:

The pricing isn't bad either. Even with the single plane package you still get a lot with all of the different textures. Nice work Mike. :)

So, when this is released, does that mean you'll reveal the WIP teaser to us? ;)

As I suspect you already know, it's just there to let you know there's alway something cooking.... :engel016:

Love that 2nd screenshot. Ive been looking at photos to see what will be my first repaint as so many good schemes are included in the package.

The two repaints I would like to see are these two:

Or a few more Dutch ones, obviously:

Yesterday I thought I would test out the paintkit for Mike. Still a little more tuning to do, the repaint depicts the restored pacific theatre combat vet "Little Jeanne" which was recovered from New Guinea and then restored by Precision Aerospace in Australia. The aircraft was operated in Australia for a few years by Murray Griffith, during which time the original pilot of "Little Jeanne", Lt. Robert Warren, was reunited with the completed aircraft. Since 2007, the aircraft has been operated in France, owned by the French Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis association, located at La Ferte Alais, and has been seen at air shows throughout Europe.

Note that Curtiss had some unique tail number stencils that differed from other manufacturers (just as some other manufacturers, like Bell Aircraft, also had unique-to-them tail number stencils). As a result, the available Air Force/Army stencil fonts won't cut it.

Very nice work John.

Had hoped someone would do this scheme!

Looking forward to trying it out when the P-40 is released.

Cheers

Paul

Does this mean the numbers in that font style, 0 through 9, will be included in the paint kit to copy and paste for those who require them? I'm just thinking that my might be a nice addition to the paint kit on it's own layer that can be turned off and on for reference as needed.

Nice work and preview pics. :)
