Frame rate and 4GB patch

I'm having some fps losses/stability issues and I wondered if the 4GB patch would solve the issue, did anyone try it? Is it like the PC/laptop is giving full RAM/top priority to CFS2 when playing, etc? I'm not familiar with this kind of things (and I don't really dare changing this kind of parameters). And having the new Zeros lagging in combat is kind of heartbreaking :banghead: https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/resources/4gb-patch.553/

Ludo,

The 4GB patch is an absolute must for getting the most out of CFS2, especially with the newer "birds" like those made by Andrew

That said, as the readme states, it just allows the cfs2.exe to "see" the RAM that newer hardware & OS - remember CFS2 is an OLD proggie ⏳

So there will still be a point that the cfs2 exe processing itself is the bottleneck.

Graphics hardware & effects intensity also influence how quickly cfs2 chokes.

You might just have to dial back the numbers of active aircraft in order to get a mission to be playable, or consider replacing the non-player aircraft flights with more frame rate friendly ones.

After all, the AI doesn't care about having a super-duper VC cockpit does he?

Thanks for the tips Uncle, It appeared just recently, was admiring the A6M5>20-30 fps, engine start>8 fps :dizzy: (and it happens to the other planes I have too). I will install the patch tomorrow and hopefully solve this fps thing. And yeah, I will have to think about the planes I will use in my missions, especially for the USN. Thank you again :jump:
