I think you'll have to create a mission to do that.
When I'm checking range performance, I create a simple A to B mission. I hand-fly the take-off & climb to cruise altitude, then throttle back & set up for cruise before engaging autopilot. I use the autopilot from the CFO Weather package, it allows you to set a heading & hold a set altitude, plus you can still use it up to x 4 time acceleration. A lot more useful than the default AP.
It can still mean a long mission time for VLR/Maritime aircraft range-checking ...
Niether airbases are included with the stock cfs 2 game as neither are located in the Pacific. There are add on bases scenry for France but New York maybe not or at least i'm not aware of them. That's more of a flight simulater route than a Combat Flight sim, route.
Use Achim's rendition of Cherbourg with associated airbases.dat entry. Here is an entry for Tetoboro which will take you over New York City in a simple mission. Just fill in the runway number and ID.
I presume you won't be landing but carrying out an air drop.
I flew from Cherbourg to Williston North Dakota It's ridiculous! GPS 100 has Williston and a lot of Florida cities, but don't include New York, Berlin, London or Paris...
