Free Hudson/Lodestar Expansion Pack

Roland,

I checked it on my PC and everything looks okay. Could it be that something went wrong on your specific installation? Anybody else seeing the same anomalies?

Best regards,
Francois

Francois I am experiencing the same anomalies.

I even tried one of my textures and it is the same. Nose is good but the rest looks as if the texture hasn't been flipped. Even tried that and it is still the same.

Francois, please,i hope you do not miss understand my meaning...but i find this entire situation amusing...the more i read along,and it seems eachtime i open SOH and look at this thread,,there is another comment about a mistake,if i can use that word,the reason i find it amusing is that here we have been given something really cool to add too an already really cool plane (product) and its gotten goofed up with a few little mistakes.which to me seem to be minor and will be sorted soon,yet still minor lil goofies...and when i look over at my weather station..i cant help but notice its in the fullmoon stage and i just sit here and chuckle and thought to myself yup..."par for the course"....:icon_eek:

mind all of you..im not complaining that you brought any of it to Francois' attention..nor ,as i stated.am i giving him or his crew a bad time,because if it wasnt for them,we wouldnt have this great airplane as it is..but i just thought the entire situtation amusing...i guess its the geek in me..

After downloading the updated expansion pack I still kept getting the 'model not showing' message and found that the mdl.cfg file needs to be changed from:

[models]
normal=GFA LH LODESTAR Mk6 Civil
interior=GFA LH LODESTAR Mk6 Civil_Interior

and:

[models]
normal=GFA LH LODESTAR Mk6 Military
interior=GFA LH LODESTAR Mk6 Military_Interior

to:

[models]
normal=GFA LH HUDSON Mk3 CIVIL
interior=GFA LH HUDSON Mk3 CIVIL_Interior

and:

[models]
normal=GFA LH HUDSON Mk3 MILITARY
interior=GFA LH HUDSON Mk3 MILITARY_Interior

Once I did this everything was perfect and the texture showed correctly.

Hope this is a help

Thanks Francois , d/loading now :cool: makes for the end off a great weekend . COOL! OK, just pass it along to the appropriate person ???

The Simon Smeiman models are made by one person and one person only: Simon Smeiman. :applause: As you may have gathered from previous messages and threads I always forward everything to him, and he so far has addressed each and every issue on all of his creations. But Simon lives in the bush somewhere deep down in South Africa and only has sporadic internet access....... so communication is somewhat......errrmm.... 'adventurous'.

Sorry for the inconvenience..... and the little goofs....... it will all be sorted in due time.

And of course..... ya'll haven't figured this out yet, but we did it on purpose.... Look at all the publicity we're getting out of this !!!!!! :icon_lol::icon29:...... *cough*

Alright, I'd better just copy what is in MY FSX setup and see if that works for all of you too..... got too many development folders on my machine now I guess. *sigh*

But first...... it's Sunday and I promised the Missus to go 'do' something together..... like visit a museum......

I had no idea that he was a Great White Hunter in deepest Zimbabwe who designs Flight Sim models in-between client safaris. It must take days for those Masai runners to reach him by foot !! And then return with his communications.
Perhaps he should use the jungle drum relay system.

And DELIBERATE MISTAKES in the product as a business model ?? Who would have thunk it !!

Just funnin' you, Francois. Still an excellent and worthwhile product. <label for="rb_iconid_24">

Oh we use jungle drums already........

The ONLY problem we have in our current business model is......

..... to educate our customers on translating the drum beats into actionable bits and bytes ! :icon_lol::icon_lol:

Waiting for download and installation (thanks for free stuff François and Simon)
Looking at the screenshot, it appears to me that some of the textures are flipped the wrong way (seen similar issues before :icon_lol:....)

Wasn't trying to confuse you Francois. The bits in red in the MK 3 cfg as you can see were pointing the model to the Lodestar MK 6 instead of the Hudson MK 3. W

hen I pointed them back to the MK 3 everything works fine. A

ll the repaints I have started work fine as well so during the week between shifts in the taxi and getting rid of stuff I should have dumped years ago I will put the finishing touches to them and see what transpires from there. Because of the situation I cannot make any promises as to when they will be uploaded.

I have now uploaded a new compilation of the Expansion Pack. Wrong mdl files and cfg files should now be corrected and replaced by the correct ones.

Sorry for the fumble ! :blind:

The Hudson Expansion is clearly published by my brother, Murphy.

Anything that could go wrong DID go wrong and anything that still can go wrong WILL!

I now have uploaded the corrected file..... and now the shop software has made all existing links INACTIVE ! Grrrrr................

So there are two things you can do to get the new fle:
1) order it again (it is FREE, so no sweat) and then download it.
2) send me an email and I can re-activate the existing order with the NEW file.

I think I go back to bed now....... some days one just shouldn't get out of it ! :isadizzy:

As already mentioned, I'm very happy to see the C-60 Lodestar in the military cabin layout. I have slowly started on a repaint of T-AG of 335 Sqn, RNoAF, late 1940's-early50's.

The Lockheed Lodestar was far from a game changer during the war, the type never the less carried out an important service whenever the Dakota was not available. In Norwegian military aviation history it is tightly connected to the so called "Stockholms ruten" which was flown by Norwegian owned Lodestar's under the BOAC umbrella between the UK and Sweden during the war. It was an important communication flight between the Norwegian exile government in Sweden and the UK. After the war several of the Lodestars soldiered on before being replaced by the C-47 in the early 1950's.

Hej JensOLe,

very nice !!

Simon promised me a paintkit too.... but I see you already solved it yourself :)

Francois, I can only assume that the current paintkit works with the expansion pack aircraft. I am in the process of checking repaints I had already done and so far all paints work on the MK 3.

Francois,

Thanks! Just an quick start with putting some color on the Lodestar.

Aussiman: Only parts of the wing (the Lodestar has slightly different wing shape) and nacelle textures will work with the new Lodestar model. I had to make the front and rear fuselage textures.
