Free Replacement UTX Railroads

Hi guys,

The final package of my UTX railroad textures for USA, Canada and Europe with installer has now been tested and is ready.

These textures upgrade the default single track railroads to double tracks with new alpha blended encasements for all UTX packages.

Paul, i'm using your railroad replacement textures for UTXE. Should i deinstall them first? Thanks in advance!

No need to uninstall the original EU textures. Just install over the top.

The installer will overwrite the terrain.cfg entries and if you uninstall it will put the original UTX entries back, thus uninstalling the old versions too.

This version uses different prefixes for the filenames of the textures so if you want to remove the original EU textures go ahead. They have a 'CUST_' prefix.

The installer by-passes the UTX texture mapping tool so there is no need to edit anything from within the UTX setup tool. Just install and fly.

And will UTX change the mappings if i would run the UTX Setup Tool or if i apply UTX patches?

UTX will only override the new mappings if you manually go into the texture mapping part of the setup tool and physically pick a new texture mapping.

If this does happen, then just reinstall the package.

The package works by bypassing the setup tool and actually editing the main FSX terrain.cfg which sets the textures for the UTX features. The UTX setup tool does not change this as long as the correct entries exist. I doubt any UTX patch would affect this either - only if a patch edited the railroads somehow.
