F8F-1 Bearcat Textures VF-18.zip
A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Skins - American
Description: Hi All,
These textures represent a F8F-1 Bearcat from VF-18 off the USS Ranger, CV-4, circa 1945. They can be used on the Alpha F8F-1 Bearcat or the one uploaded by me, that can be found here in the library, at Sim-Outhouse.
Included are a new Prop texture and an air file to fix the rear wheel from looking like it has a flat.
Thanks to all for their help and sound advice in making this possible.
As usual, all legalities apply.

Hi All,
Finally got the skins uploaded, Twice. Don't know that happened. Maybe Rami can fix it when he has a few spare minutes. Anyway, there's a new prop texture and a new air file to fix the rear wheel so it doesn't look like its getting a flat. Hate when that happens. Make sure you also check out Baldy's French Bearcat skins. They look great. And, if I'm not mistaken, there may be some more French renditions coming soon.

Hi all,
Here's a Armee de L'air Bearcat. It's from GC 2/21 Auvergne, 1/10/53 - 4/5/54, French Indochina. "F" was flown by Pilote Crouzel who unfortunatly was KIA later in Algeria.
I'm not trying to step on Baldy's toes by doing this. His Bearcat looks great and maybe He'll do more of them. This was done as an excercise to see what it would look like and a departure from US Navy skins.
If there is any interest, I'll package it up and upload it.

I'm not trying to step on Baldy's toes by doing this. His Bearcat looks great and maybe He'll do more of them. This was done as an excercise to see what it would look like and a departure from US Navy skins.

Love the work you've done Bub. I'm still kicking around that Bearcat campaign idea. Gotta find the time, but you can be sure your Bears will be center stage if i do it. I wonder if you could have a go at dressing the Gerry Lindell model in something nicer than the default?

Here's one more. "E", ser. num. #95184, GC/21 Auvergne in Saigon, 1953. I'll post the two modified texture bmp's instead of uploading a complete texture. This is the last French Bearcat that I do. If anyone wants to do more, I'll send them what I have and they can have at it.

Here's the above textures fixed up a bit. I made the Auvergne "badge" a little bigger along with the tri-color. It's more in proportion. This is the last thing I'll be doing for a while. I'm taking a sabbatical from the paint shop. Its time to fly and enjoy all the wonderful "things" everyone else has been doing.
