Started this back in November but left off for some time - but with Pepe's encouragement and help with panel, airfile and other stuff it's nearly ready - didn't think I'd get round to it again but here'a couple of pics

Hi Jagd

It's a one-off Potez CAMS 141. They were going to build a fleet of them for the Aeronavale but the war got in the way so only one made it in the air. They called it 'Antares' after a giant star.

I comited at least one fault. I believed in all CFS2 literature that says CFS2 depend only at the airfile. Baldy sugest me to see the possibility of enhance take off behaviour using the aircraft.cfg with engine settings. Initially, I discarded the idea cause it's out of box. After some testing with the aircraft.cfg Baldy sent to me I perceived it take off more easily, even it has Kestrel figures at it. I prepared a new aircraft.cfg with corret Hispano-Suiza 12Y29 figures, but Baldy already have uploaded the new plane. I'll upload the fix. For this plane I repainted four gauges to give them a more French apearence. A German ADF, a tank management gauge and two fuel gauges. Unhappily I don't know who did them. The gauges makers are the anonimous heroes of Flight Simulation. I hope you enjoy them.

Cheers

The Antares had an eventful life. Fought with the Allies and the Axis. He was credited for one U-Boat near Dakar and had a 30 hour endurance at 250 kph. After take off, you can use only half throtlle and a ver poor mixture to get it planned patrol height of 1 kilometer (around 3,300 feet) at a 200 meter/minute rate. It's a good rate cause you have 3,320 gallons of fuel aboard... a lot of fuel! Fortunetally, it never encountered a Ju88C fighter in its ways!

Question:

Will this do for a "first attempt" published repaint ?

I also have the original unpainted skin w/ panel lines only...

Head's Up !

Just posted TWO skins for Baldy's Antares - a "Plain Jane" with panel lines, and a heavily weathered version, done in light Robin's Egg RAF Blue...

It's my first "publicly shared" repaint - so critique away !

In the meantime ... here's a bit 'o eye candy to tide ya'll over until the weekend!:pop4:

Antares

Kind of you to say so Rami - but a lot of credit to Pepe, without his help and prodding she wouldn't have made it off the ramp - and to Bill and SC for the finishing touches
