first, history:

I am reworking the textures since a few days, I shined a little the MDL and work on the textures
for reflecting aspect to... for an aluminium skin... I know it's not very historical, because VG3x
were built in wood. We only can imagine a VG39 prototype in aluminium, powered by a Merlin III
engine...

I also reworked the contact points, but the flight model is very agile and realistic !

I'm also reworking the camo texture...

I test my personnal sound (not uploaded) Packard-Merlin for this aircraft..

Very nicely done!:salute:

Thank's Falcon, Not many pixels for wings and fuselage textures, here and there I work pixel by pixel.

But I realy love this aircraft, I know its short history...
It was potentially the twin brother of the spitfire, But not rather powerful with Hispano Suiza
engines... But it was fast for its time, and had an excellent maneuverability and turned very well.

test flight in a few days on youtube...

Look for the CFS2 VG33 by William Dickens. Very nicely modeled, very well texture mapped. Works very well in FS9...he does his testing in FS9 then creates a CFS2 model of the plane.

Oh, should be on Simviation.com as well, along with a nice selection of very FS9 usable planes...and in our library under Bismarck13...a long line of Beaufighters variants.

OBIO

Hurricane91, thank's...

OBIO, I'll get a look for these aircrafts...

The VG39 of Patrice Grange is nice, fluid lines..

Sharp little plane! Thanks for the heads up Cees.

Reminds me 'slightly' of the Bugatti air racer, P-100, especially in the nose and rudder.

Great looking bird.

HHHAaaaaa ! Lionheart, your Bugatti air racer is a piece of ART !!!

Not yet in my hangars, but very soon, just see screens... Stunning !

I did not know this aircraft... what a beauty...

:applause:

Just a couple of days ago I was going to say the same thing, that it seems to have the lines of Italian design and thinking of that little Bugatti racer.

It has very strikingly sleek lines. Imagine today hammering that same design out as a homebuilt in aluminum out of your own shop and have it ready to roll out of your hangar and strap it on when ever you are ready to take it for a spin. It looks compact, fast, light, and clean/sleek.

Nice looking created model work there.

Hello-
This bird is pretty slick, isn't it? Looks sweet, flies sweet... It intrigued me enough to try a repaint myself- here's the current work in progress... -Mike Z.

Looks great Mike! I agree, the VG 39 is a real sweetheart. I am loking forward to both yours and Solobo's repaints.

Well, here she is... Based on the only profile I could find on the net( a better looking version of the one that's on one of the texture bitmaps)- colors and roundels courtesy of Simmers Paint Shop, and a Banana Bob prop...
Solobo, you're absolutely right... not many pixels to work with...

... indeed, not many pixels... Mike, your camo texture is very beautiful ! The choice of the colors,
not too light, not too dark... and their repartition... very well balanced... I like it !

Hey Mike, very very nice. We are lucky that you like to tinker with airplanes like the VG 39. Are you planning to upload?

Thanks, guys... perhaps I will upload it...

Solobo, I still would very much like to see what you come up with. I'm sure it will teach me quite a lot... This is my first attempt at really reworking a texture more or less from scratch, everything else up to this point being either a cut/paste/blend in, or just recoloring...

Mike, your first attempt is very good ! Well, my alu skin is finished, reworked again and again...
I just test on reflective effects, more or less... it is a balance between the grey of texture and the grey of alpha channel... If the grey of alu texture is too dark, it's not good for night, or rising sun.. too dark... As you I use PSP (7) and I open it with dxtbmp... for saving the textures with various formats...

I still working on camo texture, because for rivets, etc... I'll use a transparent mask...
Beforehand created carefully...
I discovered, in the past, there is a transparent grey... if you copy this mask on your texture,
ctrl+c ===> ctrl+shift+E (Very exactly!) only appear the non grey parts... houps! My english...

So, it is possible to work the camo colors first, and to work the rivets or/and the cocardes
after, by copy and transparent past... But the work is longer, he asks for preparation...

For harmonious gradation I discovered very recently diverse possibilities with PSP...
... mmhh... I guess You are maybe better than me in this part of work...

But Mike, the choice and the balance of colors are personnal, and you have the good eye !
One more point, your color is matt, only light shine effect on MDL file, and it's good for camo !

...

very nice. added to my collection . now does anyone knows of a nice arsenal VB10 that would work in FS9 ? i have always been obsessed with this desgni ... but nowhere near as the bugatti P100 ( many thanks again lionheart for one of the planes that had the most flight time in my copy of FS9 )
