Found this shot while trawling through my negatives on the hunt for pre 1985 Australian GP images.
The factory Maserati team in their rather scruffy headquarters, Melbourne, November 1956.
One of my Father's shots, now looking for more.

Back during one of my postings to the UK mid '70s we (I was seeing a young lady who was into racing) went to a 'Run what yer brung' event at Snetterton.
Typical bleak Pommie weather but the cars were out-bloody-standing. Not just one but two Aston Martin Zagato Lightweights.

Excuse the poor quality of the above shot, it need some serious cleaning up.
This is how they arrived, by public road.
I often think I should have hooked up with her on a permanent basis but then again ........... :icon_eek:

Fine stuff Wombat. I doubt many here are old enough to remember when one got muddy at races.

having been involved mostly in dirt track racing most of my racing years....my "whites" were heavliy stained..every year i bought 6 brand new pairs of white jeans and we ordered our 43H racing shirts to go with em..they were my standard "yellow base color, with red lettering and a black highlight on the lettering.
in this pic, girl on the left..my GF at the time Dianna, she and the guy far right Bill Mispley, they have the shirts from 1980 i used 43C on that car....it was mandatory as it was the old "Claimer" division,we didnt even have yellow flags..the guy in the Addiad's shirt...thats Allen Mispley....he now works for JGR ,he works in the engine shop,a few years ago with the engine blew up on the dyno machine in the shop at JGR,it was allen who was the man who went in and put the fire out,,and that they said had minor injuries..bill,and allen and i grew next door to eachother, our dads were inthe vol FD and the Auburn Jeep club together...among many other things..lol...Allen also has 5 indy 500 wins under his belt as the engine builder,i dont follow the open wheel cars much..but when they changed to all one make of engine it put him out of a job....he was building race engines out of sacramento...the entire company shut down...and he went to JGR...
