FS-Cast B-17G New Release

Hey, yes it has been about at our website for awhile now. http://www.skyunlimited.net/ if you decide to get it, grab it from our website and both Paco (the designer) and I end up with a higher percentage. Thanks

I actually did some repaints for it not too long ago. If there is any interest I'll get them uploaded here.

Load 'm up, Chris, they look great ! Thanks a lot! :ernae:
Did any for the WOP too ?.... :mixedsmi:

Cheers,
Jan

Yes please upload the repaints if you've got them. Also it would be great if you could let people know about them over in our B17 thread, the link to SOH could help visitors find this place as well.

I've found this model to be much nicer/cleaner than the WOP version.

I know a lot of people compare it to the WOP one, but one thing I rarely see mentioned is that the regular price is also $5 dollars cheaper, and for the first weekend it was on sale Paco allowed people to get it for only $24.95. He really put his heart into this airplane, and I hope it starts getting a lot more attention.

I love it :D

I don't have the A2A B-17 (might get it when Accu-Sim comes out) but I think they both have equal merit, but each in its own way. Thanks again for letting me review it Jessy :ernae:

This was before VFR Reviews started giving out awards, and it probably would have got one, too....

Why another "G" model? It was an overweight pig. Most of the B-17 missions were flown by E and Fs. The G models were the last to be built and ended up as target practice for the Navy and used for USCG rescue.

I'm sure Paco started the plane long before there was ever any G model out for FSX possibly even FS9, but I can't remember if it was the first true FSX B-17G or not. I would like to see some early versions though. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Someone was working on some early B-17s at one time, I remember seeing some pictures of them a year or so ago, but I don't know what ever happened to them. These planes can take years to make especially when you pretty much a one man team like Paco was, just because someone else comes out with a plane we don't give up on a more than a years worth of passionate work.

Has anyone done, or know of any more paints of this plane? I understand some were uploaded at Avsim before they got hacked, but I've only found Cirrus's (Thanks very much, buddy.:medals:) so far. Wonderful plane!

A Coastie Paint would entice me to buy this B-17 G. Been on the hunt for one in Fs for sometime.

The FS-Cast B-17G was sold by SimMarket and FlightsimShop. Last seen sold by SkyUnlimited. Don't know if it is still available anywhere.

Flew mine the other day. Great addition if you can find it.

It has a popup panel for controlling (rotating, elevating and firing) all the guns, as well as dropping bombs.

Only issue I have is that its a pain to taxi. No matter what I do I cannot steer tight enough despite make changes to the contact points and brakes. Anyone have an idea why? :dizzy:

Warhorse I had the same problem with mine also. Here is what I did to fix my steering.

[brakes]
toe_brakes_scale=0.75
parking_brake=1
differential_braking_scale = 1.0

Copy and Paste these brake settings and delete the original setting.

Contact Points line 7 change the 180.0 to 90.0 or what ever you prefer.
Air File sect 328 change tail dragger to True from False and save settings.

Did all those except the air file, so I guess that is my problem. Never edited one before. Suggestions??

Warhorse here is a copy of Air Edit. It's free for everyone. Robert
