FS2002 and CFS3 on sale again!

Hey guys,

I was toodling around in Best Buy today and found CFS3 and FS2002 on sale there! They are in new smaller packages, and priced at $9.95 USD. Very nice!!

I wish they had CFS2. I had never had that one. From what everyone says, its great.

It's comic bookish, all right, in places, but some dedicated sim aficionados have improved it greatly from the out-of-box version. Just like they've done for CFS3. Makes me wonder what CFS4 would've looked like. Still, having grown up on the west coast and watched the WW2 news reels at the theater during that war, CFS2 was the first sim I bought. Besides, I wanted to fly off and onto a carrier. I was planning on joining the Navy after High School but ended up in the Air Force for 21 years.
 
I bought my copy of CFS3 at Target almost a year ago for $10. They also had FS2002 but it does not say Pro so I wonder which release it is.

I would have liked to have CFS2 also just for fun. Some times I just like to turn invincibility on and go blow *** up. :icon_lol:

Dave, I got FS2002 (FS8) for $9.95 at Staples a couple of months ago. It is not the Pro version, but it is great and you do not need to put a disc in your computer to run it. And there are many add-ons that are available here and at the other wellknown websites, such as Simviation and FSwarbirds. For my 6 year old computer it is much more frame rate friendly than FS2004. I suggest that you try ebay or amazon.com for CFS2, they show up there regularly. I prefer CFS2 over CFS3, because with CFS2 you basically can go anywhere in the world and are not stuck to the Pacific Theatre. Here again, there are more CFS2 add-ons that you ever will be able to collect. And you really can blow things up in CFS2 and again, it runs smoother than CFS3 on my computer.:bump:

I checked last night on Ebay and there were a dozen CFS2 packages in there for sale..

I also bought FS2002 at Staples a couple or three years ago. Found a copy of CFS2 at Half Priced Books shop earlier this year; and bought a copy of FS2004 on the web.

The nice thing about CFS2 is that you can develop CFS2 versions of your planes in gmax. Am presently working on a project that will work in FS2004, FS2002, and CFS2 out of the box.

James, I don't have the skills to do what you do :applause:, but keep me in mind when you come up with aircraft.:wavey:

Try to get a copy of MAW and run that on CFS3. It is a great effort and simulator of the first part of the Med Air War. However, due to apparent burnout of the volunteeers the development was not continued. It brings CFS3 back to life. And now ETO is also a great improvement of CFS3.:wavey:

I will; I have two machines at home; one runs FS2002, the other FS2004. So everything I develop should run on FS2002; the model may need to be converted with MDLC, but that it is it.

Like you said, FS2002 does great on older machines; I even tried to get Tileproxy to run on it, and it almost worked!

I ran MAW,I gave the game away.I really don't like it.
 
To each his own but I thought / think CFS3 to be a Dog out of the box.

When you install MAW, PTO, ETO, or OFF (1, 2, or now 3) it moves the sim to a new level that I like.

It makes the purchase of the game at $10 worth the price if you have time.

The larger problem is always that I am too busy with FS2004 or FSX to really spend time on any CFS variant. lol as I write this I think of the number of times I have had to answer a phone call from my lovely and dear wife while flying in FS2004. Try to do that in multi-player in CFSx :icon_lol:.

I would like to take this moment to say that for all of you guys that develop both freeware and payware for all of the mentioned sims...

Thanks I really have enjoyed many hours because of you.
