Hello there guys

I have painted yet another SAAF aircraft on request from one of the forum members to fill the virtual skies.

I have made a repaint for the feelThere Caravan!Deluxe in the colours of the South African Air Force or SAAF 41 Squadron aka "the Pointers". The Cessna 208B Grand Caravan in SAAF colours has the national flag on the tailfin with the Cessna logo and Carvan lettering. The old SAAF eagle castle roundel or cookie cutter roundel is on the side of the fuselage with dark blue and arctic blue stripes and a glare shield painted on the nose .The Pointers patch is painted on the side near the door or on the door itself with the serial number in black on the side near the horizontal tailplane. During the SWC2010 a South African flag with a soccerball logo was painted on the vertical stabiliser to show the 41 Sqn supports the Worldcup 2010.

I have uploaded the repaint at http://www.flightsim.com so be sure to check it out! Make a search for either SAAF or Pieters, if the repaints do not show yet it maybe due to the servers not showing them yet.

Hey that looks nice :applause:

Always felt that some of the Caravan paints had too much shadow effect which made it too dark, this one has a good balance.

Did Banana Bob do a prop for the feelThere Caravan ?

You are correct regarding the shadows being rather dark from the paint kit. I had to tweak it a bit with some repainter mambo jumbo to get it as white and clean as the real SAAF Caravans:jump:

I have no idea if Banana Bob did a prop texture for the Caravan, maybe someone with more know how can enlighten us!:isadizzy:
