Very nice! Looks much like this one:
I was lucky enough to be there on that day, in the first row, to watch this beautiful machine take wing! ANd I would love to relive that moment in the sim. Any chance of adapting your paint to this one: https://www.flugmuseum-messerschmitt.de/messerschmitt/aircraft/me262/index.html
Adolf Gallands comment after his first evaluation flight on the 262: Es ist, als ob ein Engel schiebt. As if an angel pushes. Thank you!

It was on my list but appears to have been done.

I like that scheme Steve.... just needs a small antenna array mounted on the nose and a fictional squad marking.

Can't do anything about the radar but I have a fictional insignia for it.

That 262 could be a "de-commissioned" night fighter version, as the Luftwaffe removed the radar equipment... :biggrin-new: . Just a thought... I like the red squad marking. And a number in red, such as "Red 13". In the same layout as the Bf-109's or the Fw-190's of or about the same time period. Purely fictional of course, (e.g. the schemes you did a while back for Alphasim's classic MiG-25 Foxbat).

But also, historically correct paints are very important, especially on Russian and German WWII aircraft. JMO.

Today I've bin playing with a couple of cammo schemes.
Whilst I agree with your historical accuracy statement, some times I just have too paint it Black :biggrin-new:.

Today I have finished playing with the details, and rivets on my masters, to celebrate I started another cammo scheme.
I shall be completing some schemes and upload them after getting some sleep.

I woke up this morning feeling a bit heavy.
So I took up something with more than one seat for a change.

And that is a BIG Bird indeed. I fly the Russian "Mainstay" version of that plane and it's a handful. Once you get all the systems initiated, it flies pretty easy tho.

And the Me262 repaints... I had to build a separate hanger for all of those....:dizzy: Superb work, Steve!

Getting back too normal. No heavy lifting involved.

My bad influence on the Dutch military forces.....

It seems I had a devastating effect on the Dutch armed forces................... My sad career in 3 images :biggrin-new:

During my military career I served at several airfields

Soesterberg Air Base....... The oldest airfield from the Royal Dutch Air Force, but closed in November 2008 (Currently the National Military Museum and National Park Utrecht)

Ypenburg Air Base............ Closed in 1991 (Converted into an urban area. The main building/terminal has a unique design and still exists as a national monument)

NAS Valkenburg............. I was briefly stationed at the Naval Air Station Valkenburg, the effects for the Navy were disastrous, the airfield was closed in July 2006 (Will be converted into an urban area....)

Luckily I can still fly virtually to these places............

Cheers,

Still one of my favorite aircraft of all time. I have always enjoyed the sight of the Grumman S-2 Tracker series. These machines revolutionized carrier ASW in the 1950's. They placed all detection, tracking and attack in one airframe, while previously it took two machines to handle the attack on an enemy boat.

Each Essex class carrier carried between 32 to 36 Trackers, depending on the time frame of the deployment. In the early years, each carrier deployed two VS squadrons of 18 aircraft each. These planes, were normally deployed as teams as two, as before, but in extended coverage each ship could act on its own. In the late 1960's, as the Essex class carriers were preparing to be retired, the squadrons were reorganized to twelve aircraft apiece. Depending on the planned deployment of the Essex class carrier, two or three squadrons would go to sea on her.

After the retirement of the last Essex class ships, each of the large carriers were transformed to carry one squadron of ASW planes. While the Lockheed S-3A viking was being tested and planned for deployment, a squadron of modernized S-2G Trackers were brought aboard. These twelve planes would take over the ASW/fleet scouting, and maritime patrol work for a task force.

The S-2 proved to be one hell of an airplane!!!

A couple from this evenings flight.
