Hi All

I thought i'd post in here as im more of an FS9 user the FSX (although that may change with the new hardware)

I was wondering if I could delve into the huge amounts of knowledge the SOH possesses via its various members about opinions on my new system

The specs are

Intel Core i5 2500k quad core@ 4.6ghz with 6mb cache
Gigabyte ga-z68xp-ud3p, Intel z68 chipset
16gb (4x4gb) Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 Ram @ 1600mhz

Now the graphics card I havent picked out yet as I wanted to see how this system would handle FS9 and FSX in theory if a decent GPU was imagined to be installed already so that I dont pay a stupid amount for a GPU when I dont need to, so any information or opinion will be listened to fully

p.s i'd also like the opinions of anyone using FRAPS how my system would cope with FRAPS running as my main use on FS9 is video making

Thanks
Matt

My spec is significantly below that (AMD quad core @ 2.8 ghz, 4 gig of RAM), and it pretty much eats everything FS9 can throw at it for breakfast; all sliders maxed, lots of AI, plenty of complex addons - no problems! :) It will run FSX as well, although not at full tilt & I have to be selective about what I fly.

So Matt, I think your system will have no issues at all. I'm assuming with the 16 gig of RAM wthat you are running Windows 7? If so you'll have to wait for somebody who has made the switch to give you the extra tweaks you may need. But I have to say I'm very jealous. :applause:

Thanks Andy

Nice to have a system and opinion to gauge against :)

Ive always struggled when it came to FS9 and FRAPS so decided to bang lots of overtime in and take the plunge into a better system, the total price is £455 for the above

Yeah I will be running Windows 7 on this system

Thanks again
Matt
