FSD Bonanza new screenshots.

And what angle did you come up with Tigisfat? I wish I had a protractor so I could measure it myself.

Just comparing your final screenshot in the first post with Tim-HH's link to the 2nd image on Wikipedia (both rear views) it certainly looks like the FSD has a wider angle between the V tail (maybe 135 deg??). Also, looking at Chuck's drawing plans it appears the angle for the Vtail is written as 30 deg from the horizontal (the writing is very small though so I could be wrong, although I do have a 30/60 deg set square which gives the angle as 30 deg) which would work out as a 120 deg angle between the V tail which looks more like the angle in the tail in the wikipedia pic.

EDIT: My apologies. After applying the set square to the screen it certainly seems like the FSD has a 30deg angle, just like the plans, while the wikipedia pic is certainly more than 30 deg. Perhaps the wikipedia pic has been shrunk horizontally giving a distorted pic or maybe some perspective distortion in the pic?

as all 3d modelers know (or will soon find out mid way during a project) not all plans are 100% accurate :engel016:

The 30* angle is what’s listed in all the docs i have as well , one needs to remember the trailing edge angle isn’t parallel to the leading edge and when the control surfaces are not locked the apparent angle from behind would appear sharper as a result .<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I sure am glad I lost my ruler. The plane looks great to me and I just wish they would release before I buy something else instead.

I am would like to know if the metal bump ribs in the ailerons and v stab are in the model or painted on.

It should be out for the weekend , the ribbing is done with bump mapping.
There are beefed up tails on the later versions and many early models had them retrofitted but there are a few early ones with smooth tails out there.
Those smooth tails can be reproduced with the repaint kit.
