FSD P-38 repaint

OK, here's my first attempt.
I decided to start with the not-so-obvious, so here's a few WiP shots of a P-38 of the 4th Stormo of the Italian Air Force:

still a few things to sort, but it looks to be fun to paint...

OK, another update, I redid the entire alpha channel, as the previous version gave blurry textures close up, and I tweaked a bit here and there, I think we can call this one finished..

The "Arkansas Traveller". I did one of those for the P-47 too, so they will make a nice pair..
I'm still figuring out the paintkit, so the hobo will get his feet back later..

Im saddened by the lack of camo/green birds. I think ill paint one myself. Im thinking something like the snake mouths of the 459th.

Hey jankees... if you could find it within your good graces.... I have a request...would like to see a Putt Putt Maru! Something about them Japanese flags on the fuselage.

My first P-38 model as a kid was of that machine. I have some nice color lithographs I can scan if you need them!

Thanks again! The 38 is going to join the A2A fighters as a value galore with all the liveries you have done!

If only life was easy...I looked at my own pics, and noticed there were no radiators visible anywhere (look at all the close-up shots). OK, the alpha appeared to be more complex than I thought, but I think I found most of them:

and to celebrate, I thought I might as well do another one:

I like the modelling on the nose wheel:

and they are cool to fly very low with:

but no smoke, and no lights either...

You will make me happy with a Putt Putt paint as well, no doubt Crash & I built the same kit & probably at about the same time LOL

btw there are lights, they are a much more subdued effect which I like much better. Turn on the wing & tail lights at night.
