FSX Auster Autocat uploaded

G-AIGF is a J/1N Alpha (an Autocrat that has a larger engine, longer nose and enlarged fin and rudder) and capable of carrying four persons (at a struggle).

I've noticed that the 'roller' at the front of the door opens it, when this is the device which allows you to open and close the window. With a screwing action, this tightens the two frames together.

The strap below the window is normally used to open the door. That is, if you use it carefully. I once gave it a yank in an Autocar and the whole thing came off in my hand. Wasnt very popular that day.

Best wishes,

Martin

The "roller" you mention is coded to open the window, but for some reason on some systems it opens the door instead:isadizzy: Maybe an SP2 / Acc issue.
On my desktop (Acceleration), it works as intended, on my laptop (SP2) it doesn't.

Thanks Bob, it's a beauty:

It started to rain, I guess I'll call it a day...

Wow! This aircraft has been given the royal treatment, with Dave's design, the addon liveries from Jeansy, Jan Kees and Banana Bob, as well as his prop mod - freaking outstanding Gents!

Here are almost 30 shots from me from todays Auster flying, including my deadstick landing at YBLN Busselton, Australia with the engine and electrics off, such a forgiving airplane.

Cheers! Mike :ernae:

Awesome shots Mike, Dave did an excellent job on this beauty! :ernae:

I wonder who said 'looks like another Piper cub' to me, for an obscure British manufacturer about 50 years ago, this type is proving very popular!

It just goes to show, in MSFS, it is the workmanship of the developer (possibly) more than the subject that makes it popular. How many here would have paid money for a L-39, if it was not a very fine model indeed.

I think my hangar will have to be extended to fit all these in!

I wonder how many have used the mag compass on the floor and noticed rhateast and west are incorect, its due to the way the compass is constructed, anyway posted on their forum and they said it will be fixed

I've just replied to your message at CBFS.
The compass won't be "fixed", as it's correct for that type of compass ;)

Whoops, I missed that in beta! Still, to be fair, at first I thought the fuel gauge was a stuck compass!! No manuals you see...not that I read them!

The original aircraft had a roof mounted compass, this was read by a mirror:isadizzy:, something FSX cannot replicate, I am told!

EDIT....breath easily again!!!

Thanks Dave for an exquisitely modeled plane.

First pic shows panel with internal shadows. Not many freewares have this.

Second pic shows 3d gauge which appears to have 3d lettering. How was that accomplished? Bumpmapping? Neat stuff!!

Just downloaded and installed, what a great effort with this aircraft, wonderful job.

And Bob, thanks for your re-paints, I particularly like the blue version you recently finished.
