If anyone has any comments, good, bad or indifferent, just throw them in, any problems too, will hopefully have the driveable ones up tomorrow, need to work on a few little aspects, one of which is the removal of the 2D panel view when your scrolling through the cockpit views, or in this case the different deck location views. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks also to James for his sterling efforts on top of an already busy platter.

In the info for CV-10 for AI Carriers in readme, think you have got the information it is showing CV-32 rather than CV-10.

Great work guys.

DOH... here is the quick update.

DOH Part Deux.... having problems with attachments.

Woohoo!!!!!

I am in the office - no FS for another few hours. But d/l anyway. The thumbs are of a Nimitz - class carrier. Small detail ... no biggie.

Will test later tonight - but thanks for this!

There shouldn't be any thumbs in an AI package, just take them out, I left them in there by mistake when calving off the AI models. New ones will be added in the 1st person ones due shortly

Ian,

I have a fully set up player driveable one with associated camera views, fantail, shooter, bridge, prifly, vultures row etc etc. Wouldn't take much to get it cleaned up TBH, I cant take credit for making it driveable, I just grabbed someone else's driveable carrier and edited to suit my boat and sadly dont recollect the orignal author.

Michael ,

The idea off two , Bruce Fitzgerald CV-6 showed us the way , in MP the carrier really becomes a amazing operation base for Carrier Ops , most flights were flown from NZ shores but because drivable you can start anywhere in the world and pick up Virtual Naval Aviators ,

We run a TS (teamspeak server) making the channel so clear for comm,s in carrier ops and for the Captain/CAG and heck,s LSO to bring aircraft on deck .

One big difference , running a MP in FSX everyone can join directly as long as one wants to be the Carrier Captain - direct the incoming or wave them off , .. Funny , i seem to end up as the Naval CO ..

It would be a privilege to have CrashAZ, Helldiver , Noddy , IanP , fliger747 . Henry , delta lima , expat , Peter12213 , Xedios 2 , Bone and navychief to land on a drivable tru deck , :wavey:

We all have the Skyraider , ideal choice ..... for staters , i do have the Hellcat , Dauntless , Corsair , in the case people want to try something a little different .

Thanks , Mike

Cheers , Ian

The movie making possibilities are amazing.

Using this Essex model as a base, one could quickly add extras using AIcarriers or FSRecorder. Using gmax one could build a separate model of a bunch of parked planes, and then export the model as an AI model with the co-ordinates adjusted so that they're sitting on the carrier's deck. Of course I don't know what they's do if you decide to change course. Using FSRecorder with the second model would give much better results, but for that you'd have to wait for the player-driver version.
