fsx gps problem after rebuild - any ideas?

Lost hard drive a few weeks ago, installed fsx and acceleration, copied saved fsx over that ...
Got planes and scenery back, but GPS is black screen (almost, see ghosted transparency of dash underneath).
See GPS on startup of paused flight, goes black after that.
Any ideas?

Went through most planes to test, just the one Garmin was wonky, but only on a few planes.
After testing, went back to trouble planes and all was fine.
Maybe something amiss in the saved flight?
