Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated Tom Clayton has offered to post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

FSX Ground Vehicle-Pickup truck

I'm not sure this is the right place for this, so if I need to put it elsewhere, please let me know. After ten years or so and a lot of time spent on FS9, I recently returned to Flight Simulation and installed FSX. So far I am doing fine and have located/installed quite a bit of aircraft and scenery. I've noticed that quite a bit of FS9 files have been updated to work in FSX and I am quite happy. That brings me to my inquiry. In FS9 there were a number of ground vehicles that were drivable, many by a gentleman (Dirk Stuck). I was able to find many of the FS9 offerings were updated for FSX. There is one vehicle in particular that I'd love to be able to use in FSX and I am hoping someone here can point me to it if it has been ported for FSX. I don't recall the name of the author, but it was downloaded from a French website. It is an airfield control generic yellow crew cab pickup. I have posted one of my repaints to see if anyone recognizes it and can direct me to where it might be available. I'm pretty sure it is freeware. I realize this is quite a 'needle in the haystack' situation, but one never knows who just might have a lead to this download.

Can't find the follow-me version, but I'll keep trying. For now, here is a drivable pickup truck for FSX.
The strangest follow-me vehicle I ever encountered in real aviation was a Vespa scooter in Venice Italy. Two men were on it, on was driving and the other had a handheld paddle with the words "Follow Me."

Thank you, I'll take a look at it. That's quite a tale about the 'Follow Me' vehicle. When I was in the Air Force I flew in a C-5B to a small island out in the Pacific that got hit by a typhoon. We were too heavy to taxi off the runway and almost all of the equipment that they had was destroyed. The aircrew broke down the pallets on the aircraft, and the natives formed two long lines from the terminal to our aircraft. Even by hand I think they got the bird unloaded faster than if we had K-loaders. They had a white pickup as a 'Follow Me' vehicle, and we got a kick out of the pet monkey the guy in the truck had with him. I didn't see the primate holding any signs, but it was a riot watching him crawling all over the driver...

I found more pictures of the 'Follow Me' truck. I don't know if they help, they are repaints that I made of the FS9 version.
