FSX Install problems

Hi all

Been no stranger to FS9 or FSX I decided I wanted to re-install FSX as I felt it was a bit clogged up with too many add ons and things unused on it, uninstalled through the control panel then reinstalled it

Installed fine but now when I try to activate either FSX it tries to connect to the server then tells me I cant connect at this time, try to phone to activate it and it tells me "Failed to retrieve the product installation ID" then shuts off

Ive read that FSX is no longer supported so does that mean I cant activate FSX anymore, be a shame to uninstall and throw it away for no reason :(

Thanks
Matt

Hey Matt,

I rooted around and found this item that you might check:

find the fsx.exe
right click it and select properties
click on the compatability tab then uncheck the box which say,
run this program in compatability for..

One person reported that even though the box was unchecked, he checked and then unchecked it and
FSX straightened up and flew right.

'Run As Administrator' can also help.
