FSX Acceleration!
Guys I've just upgraded to a GTX560 and fsx is just not running sweet, I've applied all the normal tweeks but she's still stuttering, not too bad but any stutter is bad enough also the anti analising is terrible, any advice?

Hi peter12213,

Did you remove the hold Nvidia driver and run a Driver sweeper before installing the new card and new driver.

I got a free driver sweeper from uguru3d also good for the latest Nvidia drivers.

Bruce.

NO Bruse I had it installed in the shop for me, I'm not really good with PC's, so can I ask what to do for that?

What With a new CP ,FSX GOLD..and whats listed below,I have to agree with you....Often I shut up,but after years, and now big money it time to say..BUT "THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHS ON"....Yet ,it promises ,but never really delivers Like FS9, ya gotta re-build the thing!...What ever the put FSX together with I wish i Had!!..They claim nothing unusual?? yet the more applied to it ,the more comes out..BOTTOMLESS!.like ya need a Wallet like that!!.....again I enjoy the Pluses of it...Gotta admit on my new system FS9 leaves nothing to be desired..at maxed out it delivers all..FSX? Real Great improvement also!...Please no Hate mail!...not a Bubble Buster!!...What the hey? for a relative few bucks I got a Magic carpet.,,,,Vin! Wonder whats in the pipe??<label for="rb_iconid_24">

Mate having been an fsx acceleration user since 07/08 I tend to disagree all I need is some help using Nvidia inspector, I'm not an overclocker as I have no knowledge of that however coming from a GTS250 to a X560, all I need is some tweeking, i'm running some of the finest payware sceneries and aircraft, don't get me wrong I love freeware but this is my hobby and so expect and only get the best, all I need is a little guidiance on how to extract the best from what I have and considering Ive had this new card for 4 days some help would be much appreciated and not any negative waves please! Yeah I did watch Kelly's hero's on Saturday!! WOOF WOOF!

Pete give me the specs of your computer and I will help you. Just message me with the details..type and speed, motherboard, cpu, wattage of power supply and +12VAmp

Ted basically I asked for another 2 cores to make it 6 but he said the bios or somthing wouldn't accept it, I asked for an I7 and he said theres no need, treat me as a child with comps I have no idea mate! I'm so grateful you have looked in on my troubles! I'm stumped, first flight the comp stalled and shut down secont flight with the ME108 fsx developed an error, I now have new drivers and it is untested! but those are the specs I think mate! :isadizzy:

The man that sold it to you is an idiot and obviously never flew FSX!!!! Do you have to option to ask for an upgrade at reduced prices? However if not this is what we have to work with let me see what I can come up with for tweaks. I will get with you tomorrow. I will go over to TechCorp and see if they still have some specs I can use.
Ted

Pete I'm going over to TechCorp this morning they have two older Phenom units my guess is though they are Phenom IIs but I will see what I can come up with. One thing for sure is that you need at least 3GHZ CPU speed to effectively use that GTX560.

Have you tried this tweak? It may do absolutely nothing until we get your CPU speed up to 3.0GHz but it is worth a try.

An i7 upgrade isn't gonna be cheap if we have to go the upgrade route see which is easier to do in your area AMD AM3+(accommodates the new Bulldozer CPU coming out) or i5 motherboard with i7 2600K CPU, both will require new DDR3 Ram as well. Also I need to know what power supply you have and what the +12v rating is...this is usually stenciled on the power supply itself when you open the case.

One of the best tweeks I've found for my setup is to run FSX locked at 20 frames per second. For some reason or other my card GTX295OC likes that setting and it keeps stutters to a minimum.

I also have FSX set to to use NHancer. Those settings seem to produce medium-to-hi quality graphics with a minimum of Antialiasing.

Hope some of this helps.

System Config:
300 GB VelociRaptor main drive/w Vista 64 Bit
ASUS P6T Deluxe V.2
Intel Core I7 - 975 Extreme Edition 3.33 GHz
Corsair XMS3 12 GB Memory
BFG Tech GeForce GTX 295 OC
Backup Storage Drives: Maxtor SATA 500GB, VelociRaptor 300GB, WD SATA 320GB, WD My Book 1TB External drive
Corsair H50 Hydro Cooling
Ultra X3 1600W Power
Apevia XPleasure Extended Tower
VIZIO 37" HDMI Monitor

Locking your frame rates in is always a big help. If you leave it set to max it will always try to run at max and this is what causes stutters also. I have mine locked in at 30fps and have very good results. I also run with anti-aliasing off, but when I do a screen shot I max my card settings through the card setup board popup on my main screen.

2.30 GHz is a slooooooow CPU for FSX. My Core2Quad is running at 3.8 GHz and that seems to be pretty good and in FSX, the faster the CPU, the better FSX will run.
